Man, this thread is so dead, there's an echo. I'll make a post so that if someone throws a quarter in here, there's a bottom to hit. Otherwise it would be an eternal pit. :D

I saw that INT you are referring to, BlackOnBlack...
If Brooks had thrown that same INT, we'd be hearing about till the end of the season. It was a terrible throw. Not QUITE as bad as Brady and McNabb's, but pretty bad. Jake bounced back to play pretty good after that, however. At least the bits and pieces I saw of it. |
I agree, you always here Jake this, Jake that, but no one talks about how many int's he throws. He's lucky he's got a good D and a good running game or he'd look like Ryan Leaf. LOL

The thing is, most Panther fans think Delhomme is gold. They love their quarterback and their team leader. Most Saints fans (an example of this fact can be seen in the Brooks Poll thread) don't think very much of their quarterback.
The difference being this: Jake Delhomme does not possess great skill. He's not the most athletically gifted quarterback. He mostly relies on his heart and leadership skills to get by. Delhomme makes mistakes because he just doesn't have the talent to back up what his brain wants to do. Brooks, compared to Jake Delhomme, is completely opposite. Brooks has incredible passing skills. He can deliver accurate bullets while throwing off of his back foot. He has an incredible longball. However, people have complained about Brooks' leadership skills. Also, Aaron Brooks has the talent necessary NOT to make mistakes such as fumbling and having the ball mysteriously fly backwards out of his hands. |

How does everyone tout Brooks' stats, and then pretend to not see that even with his #1 WR out and using his 6th sting RB that Jake put up numbers that were comprable to AB, Favre, Hasselbeck, Bulger, and Plummer? AB has had Joe Montanna come out and coach him in the off season, he spent his first years studying under Brett Favre, and has been given every chance to prove what he can do. And the seven year vet has proven it. He can choke. Jake has had AB to learn from, which is like studying criminology under the Keystone Cops, and has led his team to a Super Bowl, barely missed the playoff the next year after his team was RAVAGED by injuries, and is expected to be a contender again this year. The comparison between Jake and AB is a fultile one. They are close in all the stats except the ones that matter. In those, well. Who has the most wins in the last two years? Most playoff wins? Most Super Bowl appearances? Brooks could fumble every game, and if we still won, no one would care. But we dont, so we do. F AB |
