Like any other sprain high ankle sprains (or Syndesmosis Sprains) would fall under three grades with grade one being the least severe and three being the most severe. Grade III is a complete tear and requires surgery. Grade II is a partial tear and can heal with rest, but may require surgery. Grade I is more of a stretch and can be treated with therapy and pain control.![]()
