Day After Discussion
 

Here we are on Monday morning after another loss. But honestly I don't feel that bad about this one. The lack of a crowd in the dome definitely gave the Packers a little boost. Aaron Rogers is one of the best QBs to ever play.

• Other than that one fumble, the offense mostly played well. Looks like there is some chemistry starting to form between Sanders and Brees.
• Kamara is absolutely amazing and you can see the difference now that he's healthy again.
• Trautman caught a pass, missed a block.
• Murray had some good runs and looked quick through the hole on most of his runs.
• The offensive line looked better last night.

The defense played ok, not great. You give Green Bay five times at the goal line, they're going to score. Some of that was a bad pass interference call to extend it. Then there was that mystery horse collar tackle.

• All linebackers except DD are bad. Where is Zack Baum, who was supposed to be the steal of the draft by some people?
• The D line has been mostly solid, though it would be nice to see a few more sacks.
• I like what I see out of undrafted Malcom Roach. Always around the ball.
• Malcom Jenkins is hot and cold
• Lattimore always takes at least one play off, and the other team finds that open man
• I hope Davenport comes back soon and shows some production
• I can't decide if PJ Williams has nudes of Dennis Allen or Sean Payton, but he's got something on one of them

Green Bay is a playoff team and it was a very close match. Maybe I'm just so happy to not be a Falcons fan today, but I'm not discouraged after last night.

Turbo, it’s pretty much how I feel also. That’s a very, Very good GB team, a SB contender. One that can score points at will and move the ball in huge chunks at a time. The Raiders loss worries me still, way more than the GB loss.

One punt in the last 17 opponent possessions. That's absolutely awful defensively.

With the exception of Demario Davis, this defense is totally inept, undisciplined and not prepared.

We need to clean up the penalties and try to play without fouling. I'd rather give up the TD straight away as opposed to giving the opponent a comfortable, prolonged TD drive.

K, you’re deliberately leaving out the first two punts in the Raiders game, along with the entirety of the Bucs game. I agree that the defense could play better, absolutely. But GB is an outstanding team. The Raiders loss worries me more. Regardless, cherry picking stats, from specific and deliberately selected times, in order to “prove” statistically a preconceived notion is nothing short of deliberate bias.

No one is cherry picking stats. Did you watch these games ? Giving up 71 points over the last two games is putrid. Unacceptable when you just saw the Pats destroy the Raiders on yesterday.

Cam J is declining, Trey H is a good rotational player but we need a true #1 at DE (Davenport). Play has been sloppy and the 3rd down defense is atrocious. Lattimore, MJenkins and MWilliams look awful thus far. The penalties must be cleaned up. Penalties = lack of discipline.

If it's not cleaned up, this could turn into 2012 Rob Ryan's defense.

Agreed, to all, and yes I’ve watched all three games. But, the Raiders opened up the game with two punts, yet other drives were included in those stats, and not those two. Why? Because...

“one punt in the last 17 drives” sounds a whole lot worse than...

Three punts in the last 19 drives. Or (the full seasonal stats)...

Seven punts out of thirty two drives, one int, another int for a TD, a blocked field goal and an end of game, etc...

Bottom line, any of us can massage the stats into an individual confirming bias, if we want. That tweeterologist just proved it.

Yes, there are issues, and yes, both of the last two games were losses and should be analyzed..., but deliberately leaving stats out of the beginning of one game, simultaneously including later, more damaging stats shows bias, and cherry picking the numbers.

My biggest gripe is that DA always takes a few weeks before he make changes to the defense and it will always cost us at least one game. In the past, we have the offense to over come that like they did last year against the Texans.

If Kamara and McCoy don’t make that huge YAC this game isn’t even close. We have to figure out a way to make plays down the field. Sometimes it’s just the threat and/or ability to draw a flag even if the pass is incomplete.

It’s going to be hard to win with this defense and also having to sustain 8-12 play drives.

That was the thing that annoyed me the most I feel. The offense finally managed to sustain drives, so they'd go 8-10 play drives for a TD.

Packers get the ball - 20 yard gain, 60 yard gain, TD run.

Drew still didn't look right, but Kamara did enough for us to win.

Lattimore ain't worth an extension, guy has regressed every year since his rookie season.
Dennis Allen, why the hell does this guy have a DC job. He is awful.
