After last night's awesome loss by Tampa Bay the Saints can move back into first place in the NFC South.

The man is so injury prone that he injures his toe even though he hasn't been practicing.

The elbow is connected to the toe, which is connected to the hot tub....

From what I understand, AG can probably confirm this, Two Firsts pulled his acromial digital exterminus while rehabbing the shoulder. Apparently it’s in the same muscle group and is very common in “these types” of athletes. How long he’s out depends on whether it’s a grade 1, 2, or 3 tear/strain. My second cousin, third removed on my wife’s side, is best friends with DR Wile E Coyote, the orthopedic doctor evaluating him from ACME medical group in Louisville, KY, where I once interned under Bob Baffert. So..., I’m an expert here, in both humans AND horses. Similar critters to begin with regardless, save that opposable thumbs thingy.

Chuckle Chuckle, y’all. This means you AG, love you like a fat kids lives chocolate!

Nope. No input because we have no real information. But, to be honest, I am more concerned over the toe than any other injury reported for Davenport since he has been a Saint. Every other location has been totally unrelated. This is the second time a toe has been mentioned in the reports. Turf toe can be debilitating for a player that requires a power push which is exactly what defensive ends require.

Put Davenport on IR and get somebody that can help the team win. I'm beginning to have disdain for him every week that he doesn't suit up and help the team win.

I have a sneaking feeling that the team doesn't care one iota about your personal disdain. Nor should they, actually.

But, hey, if it makes you feel better then rock on!

Last I checked this is a forum for fans of the Saints. Not the players, coaches, or any member of the organization. Why would I think that they'd even visit this site?

You shouldn't. Nor did I imply that they do. Where did I do that? I was suggesting you disdain away to your heart's content. All I was saying is that it is falling on deaf ears. But, then again, you are intelligent enough to know that. Disdain away, ice!

Personally, knowing Davenport is back at practice gives me great hope.

Rest them all. Run the ball. Keep it close. Hope to pull it out in the end. Win or lose, the season starts after the bye.

I suppose you are seeing it wrong then, diz. It appears to be vogue for you and others to tell me MY opinions are wrong when I simply express my arguments against other opinions at times.

In case you didn't realize it, expressing opinions on a forum is an open invitation to debate.

I expected no less of you to be quite honest, master of spin.

If someone has a different opinion to you, then its wrong.

It is actually the opposite, myself and others have opinions and it is actually YOU that will chastise members if their opinions are not ultra positive or you don't agree.

If that's what you think. That's fine. Have a nice day, diz. I'll continue to express my opinions and you can continue to react as if I am chastising if you wish. That is your prerogative.

I don't think any of us can answer that question yet. If Davenport ends up being an absolute stud and helps lead us to multiple Lombardi's ... then absolutely. If not, then there is no telling what his otherwise production would have been offset by what could have been had by those two lower end 1st round picks.

All that said ... WE fortunately never have to make those decisions, right?

Would it really be all that bad if they paused the season for a little while?

Why? One team (Titans) violated protocols and it has been addressed. They entered the season expecting some infections from outside.

Currently all 32 teams are under extreme protective protocols. What would happen if they pause the season? Not only would games be lost which would throw competitive balance totally out of whack, but what are all these players and coaches going to be doing instead of going through daily testing and such? Yup. They're going to out there screwing up. There's no reason to pause. They have had FAR fewer difficulties than they had anticipated. Just keep on course. Besides, there's no way they give up the weekly revenues. And I'm talking league and players.

Seriously, Dude, what would they have to gain by pausing? Seriously wanting to know your take.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, at the time I liked the move. I also thought it was expensive and I was kinda thinking he would have still been available a round later. Looking backwards, fully acknowledging Two firsts’ story has still yet to be fully written, it was a bad move, a mistake. I keep that belief in check by reminding myself that none of us have the ability to foretell the future.

I'll readily admit that I am not one to delve into draft prep and all. I have made that well known around here. To be honest I didn't know much about him until we drafted him. But, from what I read he was slotted for that range by the "experts" and wouldn't have been there for our initial first rounder. I trust that you are more into the draft and had a better feel on where he would have gone. Certainly better than me.

I like the young man, I like his story. And I definitely like the aggressive move to get him. You know just as much as I do, lol, probably more. Your personality seems to be..., ahem, very dogged, lol. I doubt you are uninformed on anything regarding the Saints. Regardless, Davenport must play, and play frequently, without getting injured as much as he has recently..., otherwise it will be very difficult of him to shed the “injury prone” label, and unfortunately that label could shadow the young man for his entire career possibly.

At the time of the draft, I remember someone tweeting the following:

“He reminds me of Jadeveon Clowney..., if Clowney didn’t know how to play football”. I thought it was appropriate then, maybe even a bit now also.

Tremendous upside at the time, but there were just as many ppl saying “whoa, pump your brakes on this guy” as there were ppl putting him inside the top ten picks.

Re: Saints vs Chargers Thursday injury report: Deonte Harris does not practice

I was wondering how long Harris would hold up to the additional reps. He's not very big for an NFL player and those guys are usually huge and hit hard. I believe he's a better special teams weapon than a receiver. We've got Smith and Sanders stepping up now and don't really don't see the need to force him the ball to make a play. I expect to see less of him in the rotation and save him for his punt and kick off return abilities.

Put Davenport out to pasture already. I loved his potential at first, but it’s time to face the music and admit that the busted up 57 Chevy out in the yard with a tarp over it is never getting restored.

LOL! A player that has really popped when in the game and is only four games into his third year being put out to pasture?

:roflmao:

I'd love me a '57 Chevy, or better yet, a '54 Ford Fairlane 500 convertible like my dad had when he met my mom. Orange and white!
