Saints will play at Superdome in Week Seven
 

There’s been talk about the Saints playing home games at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge because New Orleans will not allow fans at the Superdome for home games, but the Saints won’t be heading to LSU’s home field this week.

Jeff Duncan of TheAthletic.com reports that the Saints have informed the Panthers that they will not change venues for their Week Seven game.

According to Duncan, the logistical challenges involved with getting the stadium ready for Sunday after LSU plays South Carolina on Saturday night made it impossible.

SLU in Hammond has a stadium that no one uses...at least last time I checked. It's halfway to BR from NO. Sean feels like the team will play better with fans to motivate them. I definitely agree with him!

My understanding is that it has more to do with field preparations after an lsu home game, there just isn’t enough time if the field is beat up badly, or if it rains, along with sanitizing and cleaning the stadium. And the Saints are asking for certainty of field and stadium, even if the worst situation were to occur. My guess is that if money were an issue, the situation would have already been resolved, in favor of the Saints playing live games in Baton Rouge. The Saints are wanting a binary answer; either LSU can accommodate the NFL games, all of them and on the NFL’s schedule..., or they can’t. If LSU can’t guarantee..., then the Saints will play in the Superdome, empty if required.

Yeah, I read last night that the Mayor will allow 3000 fans now. Why not? The city is is stage 3.2 of reopening if I remember correctly. People can party in the quarter now so why not social distance in the Dome? I just hope that everyone has enough sense to wear a mask. Fans in the stands ought to give us a reason not to come out flat.
