It's not all football here. That's a good thing. Contribute if you can.
Let me relate a little story my wife told me a minute ago... Many hospitals in the New Orleans area (and along the Gulf Coast, as well) have no power. There are staff keeping heart patients alive by hand, some actually opening chests by light of dimming flashlights. Nurses and janitorial staff are out in the parking lots (those not submerged) siphoning gas from cars to keep generators running. Amazing. Incredible. Wow. 8) |

i wont pay a dime to have some other organization take it and direct to where i don't know it is going. there are people down there that don't deserve to live. they don't deserve help. if there is a way i can help the vast majority that do deserve it i will. but i wonb't send money down so those bastards that are stealing and looting can eat. i wish they were all dead.

You would punish those that need help, for fear that your money might go to feed a looter? It's the Red Cross, they've been doing this for a long time.

Stealing computers makes no sense to me. However, the looting of food does not concern me at all. When you get to stages like this its survival over law.
Besides, this city is not going to be up and running again for months upon months upon months...if at all. All of this food is going to rot and spoil. What harm is it for store owners to let the looters have it? The looting of food, diapers, clothing, and other materiels essential to survival does not bother me. I do think stealing computers and things of that nature is senseless. The only logical conclusion would be that they would sell it for money. However, no one left in this city is going to buy a computer right now. It just makes no sense. I support the effort that they took to initially start solving the problems of this disaster. Save lives and worry about looters later. |

yes i am obviously not talking about food. that should go without saying. um clothes is a problem sorry. i don't think you need to steal 15 shirts. so come on now. but the other things i have no problem with. but yes you are right unfortunately there isn't much they can do about the looters. they have to save lives. why don't they ask americans to take people in from new orleans that don't have houses or family to live with. i would do that.

I have less of a problem with people looting grocery stores,
BUT They started looting less than 24 hours after the event. They didn't NEED food yet. Plus Why not pitch in and help rescue people screaming for help? |
