We get it

It seems obvious to most of us, but there is still a contingent that believes we would be better off without Brees.

I don't get it

I get what you're saying. But did you feel pretty good about him last week?

And I agree with your point. Hill is a better athlete than QB right now. But being a QB can be learned. An athlete cannot. Still...Hill has only been asked to be an "athlete" his entire career with the Saints. He's been a QB for 2 games.

I still wanna see how he does next game.

He didn't have that swagger Sunday. Deer in a headlights vibes....

Taysom was a QB in college and has worked with Drew for years. He can't make reads, his accuracy is spotty, and his arm strength is not elite. I love him as a player, but if his starting QB light has not come on by now it's nto going to.

I just don’t see where you say he “can’t “ do something. The pass he completed to Thomas at the down marker (the challenged one) was an excellent example of footwork and timing.

Actually, his arm is stronger than Brees' ever was. One of his issues is that he throws TOO hard at times. He needs to show more touch. I think he loses accuracy if he tries to let up on it a little. It's like a catcher that can fire a ball to second on a steal, but has trouble tossing it back to the pitcher.

But I do agree that he appears to be much better as an "athlete" by position than a QB.

I think his accuracy is actually very good... outside of a few throws, I have been very impressed with where he is putting the ball.

The problem is making the read at the proper time. He was indecisive in both games, but it was far more apparent this past week. Hill's biggest issue is between his ears, and as others have stated, it's unlikely to get fixed as he's been in the system and played QB plenty in the past.

Hill is clearly still a work in progress, but the play that bothered me the most yesterday was when he didn't throw the screen on time eventually throwing it away and causing an illegal man downfield penalty in the process. It looked open to me though I haven't seen any replays and don't get what the hesitation was all about. Anybody see something that should have legitimately kept him from making the throw?

Nope.

Like you stated, hesitation ruined that play. I'm not trying to knock Taysom by any means, however he missed those last week too. You can't throw routine passes in the dirt like that. You could sense the frustration in AK's body language.

I hope TH lights it up in his re match but he has to play better in his third start under center.

I think AK hasn't caught a pass for 2 weeks now and its such a huge part of his game. The left sideline was wide open.

To me, I think Taysom didn't throw because he couldn't see Alvin. One of Drews strongest traits is he throws the ball with fantastic anticipation and knows where people will be, but that took time.

Deuce Windham yesterday said, just like his 1st start didn't make him, his 2nd start won't break him. It was an ugly showing but something to work on.

I'd love for Taysom to be the future at QB if he can step up, but his job here is to win 4 or 5 games until Drew gets back. 2-0 at the min, 2 more wins get us the 4th consecutive division title.
