The Official Eating Crow About Taysom Thread
I always knew Taysom could do it! You guys look like fools not being believers!
Just kidding... I thought there was no possible way that he could be an NFL QB and he looked incredible today! I mean seriously, what did I just watch?! This is going to work guys. |
Re: The Official Eating Crow About Taysom Thread
I'm guilty as well. I thought that Winston would have been the better option.

Loads of character here.

I'm sick that the Refs took the TD away. Besides the fumble (which he needs to get cleaned up) I don't think we could have asked for anything more. Guy played smart football, kept us ahead of the chains and threw to the open guy. Enjoy this one, especially because the Falcons were laughing about Taysom at QB |
Re: The Official Eating Crow About Taysom Thread
I’ve thought TH has been the favorite to replace DB but need to prove it. Today was the start of the process he did good and he looked a lot more THish in the second half. But he was playing the Falcowns.

Re: The Official Eating Crow About Taysom Thread
Hill played well today against a bad Atlanta team, nonetheless we got the W against a divisional opponent.
Our defense is a big reason why we had success today but give Taysom his props … good game for him. I will say, Taysom better get those fumbles under control. That will be a problem in tight games once we face better competition. Who Dat ! |
Re: The Official Eating Crow About Taysom Thread
I thought Winston would have got the start. However, Hill earned this. Basically he was asked to prove it today and boy did he. He looked nervous at the start, but started settling in at the end of the first half. Some flags, one really bad throw, and that fumble is it. He did great! Excited for our future.

Re: The Official Eating Crow About Taysom Thread
His delivery of the ball seemed a little to fast at the start of the game, but man he throws a good one.

I can’t lie. I’m excited.

Re: The Official Eating Crow About Taysom Thread
Brees didn’t look that good his first few games of the season. I was encouraged by how much Hill improved during the coarse of the game. I want to see him against a real defense before I crown him heir but man he looked the part when he got settled.
Atlanta’s offensive line got absolutely throttled by our D. They were averaging just under 30 points a game coming into this game. Alexander looked pretty good. |

Re: The Official Eating Crow About Taysom Thread
I'll say this. I'm pleased. He did what he needed to do, but threw a red zone pick right into the hands of a defender who (thankfully) dropped it, and a red zone fumble in the 4th. So, a couple of things to clean up, but any day you beat the Falcons is a good day.

Re: The Official Eating Crow About Taysom Thread
I doubted!
Narrowly escaped two INTs but as the game progressed so did Taysom. And so did the team. Today I saw things from Taysom that make me even more excited than what I’ve seen from (dare I say it) Drew Brees! |

Who was the last #7 to LOSE his only start as a Saint? Oh yeah! "THE GREATEST BACKUP QB IN NFL HISTORY" Luke McCown!!!!

Re: The Official Eating Crow About Taysom Thread
Perspective: Yes, he got noticeably better against a division rival, but...
This wasn't a crowded NFL stadium - home or away... The ATL has the second worst pass defense in the NFL... The ATL offensive line, talented, has needed a coaching upgrade for years... Though he showed little effort, he was slow to throw and underthrew two deep passes for would-be scores... And he had a fourth quarter (Money Time) fumble that was likely a touchdown if he hangs onto the ball with his small hands... That said, I felt his passes had more zip on them; but he also showed great touch on some screen passes as well Don't get to high or too low, but he definitely looked the goods and there's a few people on this website that should chime in on this thread... |

GETSOM TAYSOM I always believed!!!
|
Re: The Official Eating Crow About Taysom Thread
I'm excited to see what he could do with a full game. He played great. He made some mistakes but so does every other quarterback, even the most experienced vets.
I'd still like to see what Winston can do with a week of preperation with the starting unit. |

Crow on a bed of wild rice for me, not that i didn’t think he would do ok, I just thought Winston gave us a better chance. But it was great to watch

Re: The Official Eating Crow About Taysom Thread
No crow eating here, but Taysom did well managing the game against a team we should beat. Taysom did his Taysom stuff great! But he also did a few "no, no!" moves.
Is he our future? I just want our future to be this year's Super Bowl. Beyond that ... |
Re: The Official Eating Crow About Taysom Thread
I thought he couldn’t read a defense but looks like he was instructed to run if the first read wasn’t there on those special packages in game. He definitely needs to take care of the ball though

Re: The Official Eating Crow About Taysom Thread
Great job by Taysom. The part that impressed me was how good he looked under center. His handling of the snaps, the footwork on the drop backs and his ability to step up in the pocket looked very good. With Taysom able to go under center, it opens up so much more for the offense. I'm thinking in particular that play where Taysom rolled out bootleg and hit Sanders on a drag on that side. Super hard for defenses to cover that plus the running game! I think we have a path forward with Taysom!

Many WRs were just on their third step and he was already at the back of a five-seven-step-dropback allowing more time surveying the field; suspect some coaching up by Lombardi-Carmichael-Payton-Brees in that... |
Re: The Official Eating Crow About Taysom Thread
Add me to the list of doubters. Taysom showed some poise in the pocket and kept his eyes down the field even when scrambling...
I think with more practice reps he will get more comfortable in the red zone. Only concern is his ball security when running. He has to clean that up. |
Re: The Official Eating Crow About Taysom Thread
I have always wanted to see him play. He just seems to have "it". I enjoyed watching him appear to get over the early jitters. Nothing I saw indicated to me he won't do anything but get better with experience.
I think we have a lot more than just a gadget player y'all... |
