Oh man...I really hope he's ready and not forcing himself back. This is loco. I really didn't think he could play this week.

I have a feeling they are a bit more informed than any of us.

Actually our best offense is Brees under center with Kamara, Murray, MT, and Hill on the field.

Drew doesn’t need to throw much of any to make that work.

Precisely KC is 26th against the run and we should run it all day down their throats. We are stupid if we try a shoot out with Mahommes.

Control the ball and control the clock and keep our defense as fresh as possible for the second half which is when KC usually pours it on.

I know for a fact I can’t know what’s going on on the inside. I have said that many, many times. I have my opinions like anyone else that I feel strong about, however. What’s wrong with that?

Re: Brees to start on Sunday vs Chiefs

Got to give Mahomes the least amount of chances to score as possible. This game should be the Kamara and Murray show with a lot of checkdowns from Brees. A shootout would be a bad thing.

Someone shared an opinion then you shared an opinion about their opinion in essence telling them that they don’t know anything. Then you get defensive about someone telling you the same thing about your opinion. That’s called being passive aggressive, you go from authority to victim in 60 seconds.

This is an observation from this page, not an opinion.

You come in the game chat trolling about a player not even on the field then throw a tantrum proclaiming you are leaving. 5 minutes later you are back at it then curse the group for noticing you didn’t leave.

FFS Guido, I really hate saying all this because I don’t recall you being this way then recently I found myself wondering why so many had issue with you, now it’s clear. No one has a valid opinion but you it seems.

I didn't expect to see Brees until the Carolina game but he's no normal dude. A guy coming back from 11 broken ribs and a collapsed lung within a month in a violent sport ?? Man.

Kind of surprised the Saints broke this news today. I would have had them continue to game plan for Taysom H.

The man, the myth, the legend.

Good luck on Sunday Brees.

In my mind I wanted brees back for the panthers also. A fine tuning for the playoffs. Now in my heart we had no chance for home field without Drew . Here we go

First let me say Brees did not have 11 broken ribs, he had 11 rib fractures. In no way undermining the severity but a dislocated / broken rib would be major possibly season ending. I’ve had 3 rib fractures on the same rib no lung involvement not fun but the fractures were not severe.

I think the only chance for home field is with Drew playing. With Taysom we lose 2 maybe 3 remaining games

It doesn't matter whom the QB is, if both OL and DL play like they did in philly, we will not be successful.

If you come into a public forum to share your opinions you must expect others to not agree with your opinions and what comes with that should be reasoning from those others why disagree with your opinion. I could just ignore opinions of which I disagree, but where is the value in that?

I agree with as many opinions as with those that I disagree. I almost always acknowledge that with a "like". Sometimes I voice my support. Those that I disagree with I simply make it plainly known. One area where I have been extremely consistent is maintaining that none of us, me absolutely included, can know what is best for our team without having intimate access to ALL the information possible ... which NONE of us have. If you or anyone else has an issue with that I couldn't really care less. Informing someone that they cannot know something that they indeed could not have any way of knowing is simply being honest.

It would have been a bit difficult keeping it a secret if Brees was taking all of the first team snaps in practice, which I would assume would be the case given his time away from practice. I could be wrong, but that seems logical.

And, yes, Brees is no normal dude. Everybody's body is unique. He came back from a shoulder injury that has ended many a career and went on to have a HOF career. Last year he came back from an injury that would have ended most player's seasons and he managed come back and perform at a high level in a timeframe that was shorter than the forecasted low-end.

Brees' ability to make pre-snap reads and quickly move through his progressions will mean wonders for the offensive line. Having Davenport back and receiving a reality check should do the same for the defense.

The Dolphins actually did a solid job on defense vs the Chiefs last week. It's not impossible. Jenkins hopefully will play great in coverage vs Kelce. Just be persistent and disciplined, the Chiefs can be beat.

Hey it's simple, I'd leave it to the professionals...seriously doubt they'd throw him to wolves if he wasn't ready. And yes people, the folks involved are better informed and more professionally trained to make these decisions than the rest of us, contrary to what some believe.

Jeff Duncan said today that from what he has been told, this week (KC) was the target for Brees' return for sure, with a possibility of returning last week. So, winning or losing last week doesn't sound like a factor. I sure wish it could have been last week.

Absolutely. The player, the front office, AND the medical staff all have to be on the same page. I have heard this repeated many times over when it comes to returning from injury.

If there was any dependence, of which I believe Jeff Duncan in saying there wasn't, I would think it would have been the other way around. Had we won we would still be in the driver's seat for the #1 seed making this week's game even more important. As it stands now we can lose this game and still have a good chance at the #2 seed. That could have been an argument to give Brees another week, if needed.

I bet Sean showed that play to Taysom 40 times this week in film study. Throw it with a more touch and less mustard, AK runs for at least 7-10 yards instead of a pick. That INT was a momentum changer for sure.

Lesson learned I hope.

One week too late for one of my fantasy teams. Kamara (with Brees) got me the #1 seed in the playoffs, but Kamara (with Hill) got me a 1st round exit.

Can't wait to see what the game plan offensively will be on Sunday.

Heavy run packages? Chiefs are suspect (lowest 5) on run defense.

Patrick threw 3 picks & had 3 sacks yet they still put up over 30 points(Kelce was lights out) on a good Miami Dolphins team.

The entire O line collectively must perform better. Same goes for Will Lutz.

This will be my last reply on this as you value no insight other than your own it seems.

If someone says Brees playing is crazy and you say it isn’t then that is a counter opinion. If you tell them the decision isn’t theirs well that’s a passive aggressive way of telling them their opinion doesn’t matter or that they are stupid... it’s ad hominem.

A discussion is an exchange of ideas. I recognize what you are doing because at one point in time I had three close family members that were terminally ill and it impacted the way I carried myself on these forums. It took Papz lighting me up to make me realize that I was just being caustic. All three family members passed within six weeks and I had to come to terms with that and what I had become, that’s why I spent over a year away.

This melee between Oak and AG seems to be a draw.
To break this tie, I think we should look at avatars.

While I do think AG's is great. Oak takes it.

So how should I word it to seem less abusive?

"I respect your opinion that it is crazy that Brees is starting. However, I respect even more the decision making by those that have hands on knowledge on his readiness."

Is that better? Or is that still too caustic? I do value your insight, but I am who I am and I share my thoughts the way I share my thoughts. If I rub some people the wrong way I am sorry, but I am not going to change who I am.

You know what they say about opinions, right?

Simone Elkeles — 'Opinions are like *******s, everybody's got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.'

If someone feels my opinion stinks they are free to say so and give their reasoning. Have at it. There are a few here that do just that. I respect the fact that Boston Saint has done just that. But, I will defend my opinion, as well.

I have a feeling the game will come down to the very end. Every player is susceptible to injury on any given play. I'm sure they weigh all the risks when making the decision.
