As a referee I always tell the players who fight that the retaliator is always the one getting caught. I tell them to be patient. In a rugby game there are plenty of opportunities to "get even" when no one can see like in the bottom of a scrum. Don't hurt your team. Hurt the evil doers!
Edit: After a dirty play I always told the offender that I was going to get them and I kept saying it until I got even. I was known as an enforcer and intimidator on the field. Off the field I'll drink with you all day long and laugh about the misdeeds. |
