Alvin Kamara tests positive for COVID-19, Saints awaiting re-test result

Saints running back Alvin Kamara has tested positive for COVID-19.

Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports that Kamara did not practice today and is going on the COVID-19 reserve list, but there is apparently still some hope that the test was a false positive.

Kamara has had no symptoms, feels fine and is awaiting a re-test that could either confirm he has COVID-19 or find that the initial test was a false positive.

He was out clubbing the day after Christmas without a mask. If he did indeed test positive then he let the team down.

Was he actually? That's really selfish if so.

These protocols are not as tight as they lead you to believe.
Hopefully he’s not the first in a string of dominoes.

There’s a photo of him out riding bikes with kids. No masks.

So here’s how it shakes out:

You can take a wild guess where the NFL will schedule us lol.

Very irresponsible from AK. If we don’t have him for the first round that would be a big blow.

One thing for sure that changes the game-plan drastically if AK is out.

Imagine losing in the first round without Kamara, then Brees retires and that’s how this golden era ends. SMH.

All because he couldn't say "Nah, finishing this season is more important than going to the club."

Sad scenario, but some would say that’s the life a Saints fan......sad

Masks DO NOT protect the wearer. Masks protect others from you. Now, if he's out clubbing...

Certainly starting off with a swift kick in the old sack.

Sorry, but you're wrong. Masks absolutely afford a degree of protection to the wearer. Where do you get your information?

I highly doubt he would have been rested with an opportunity at the number #1 seed. So, no we would not have rested him.

There's always some drama near playoff times it always seems to cost us. I mean it's not like he meant to get covid. With other people out for this last game it's not good.
It's kind of pray he can make it back for playoffs, even if we can't get the first seed.

First of all a mask does nada. I wore a mask everywhere I went and still ended up with COVID. Didn't even know i had it or suspect it until I lost my sense of smell. Confirmed it afterwards with an antibody test. I have had colds worse than this. I did have lingering tiredness for about 10 days and it was significant feeling of being tired, but it really wasn't anything. Crazy that some people get it and die...then people like my wife and I barely feel a thing.

The one segment of the population that isn't wearing mask regularly or social distancing is the homeless.

You would think that since the 'pandemic' is so lethal that the homeless would be dropping like flies.

Come on man. No one is perfect in their mask wearing. At some point you were around family, friends, and/or strangers without it. The problem isn't those wearing masks. Are masks a be all prevention? Of course not. But, they absolutely help. Glad you only had minor symptoms.

Re: Alvin Kamara tests positive for COVID-19, Saints awaiting re-test result

Losing Kamara is big. I do have full confidence in Murray. Heck, I would give Hill some snaps at RB against the Panthers. He's succeeded at every thing else. A couple of runs. A couple of patterns. Give opposing teams something else to look at.

I wonder if Payton will use this week to evaluate who to call up at RB, Dwayne Washington or Ty Montgomery.

I don't know where you are getting your information. They are dying in numbers that are not being reported. Several homeless shelters have had major outbreaks. Without regular healthcare, tracking of the numbers are near impossible. Our church food pantry has learned of several deaths from one time regulars that had off and on housing/homeless situations. They are registered with the state to keep them from double dipping the system.

COVID-19 is 'a crisis within a crisis' for homeless people

"The Howard Center spent three months investigating COVID-19's impact on homeless people, analyzing data to predict which homeless populations around the country would be most vulnerable. It identified 43 counties that would likely struggle in the pandemic, several of which, such as Imperial in California and Maricopa in Arizona, went on to develop some of the highest infection rates in the country."
