All Saints RB’s Out Sunday

Thanks Alvin.

Just gets better and better doesn't it.

Alvin could have very well doomed this teams playoff trip because he just had to go out to a nightclub.

Simply put, but I liked that....Thanks. Sure will be interesting watching the first 10 offensive plays today. Montgomery was on the precipice of being unemployed anyways, may as well get an audition for next year. Just feel bad for Murray, cuz I really like watching him play.

Deuce out of the booth!!! Bet he’d get 75-80 on the ground maybe a td or two.

Re: All Saints RB’s Out Sunday

With Michael Burton and Josh Hill out that further impacts the run game. Trautman is a great blocker but we’ll probably need Garrett Griffin called up from the practice squad.

We may see quite a bit of Taysom at RB, as well.

Payton wants to throw the ball 40 times a game anyway so his game plan probably won’t have to change much. 😂

But nah, I expect a lot of Taysom Hill and the short passing game to supplement for the loss of all our backs. Let’s see what Payton can scheme up.

Yup. Taysom may rush for over 100.

FYI …

Saints will be without (Covid) the services of DJ Swearinger on tomorrow as well.

Hadn't seen it posted anywhere.

A couple of thoughts. Just because all running backs are out this weekend doesn’t mean they will all be out next weekend. If the other guys don’t show symptoms they probably will be fine to play in the first round Sat or Sunday.

2 if the line blocks and opens holes like They did last week against Vikings, then Hill and practice squad guys will rush for 200 as a group.

Undrafted RB Tony Jones Jr could be promoted to the active roster on tomorrow as well.

Not sure how good he is with pass protection though.

DJ Swearinger reportedly positive too.

Here comes the "No DB's allowed to play this week either" news.

No CJGJ or Swearinger this week.

The Dude 01-02-2021 12:47 PM

Re: All Saints RB’s Out Sunday

Treat Winston as the number 2 and use Taysom in the running game. If Brees goes down we are screwed anyway. Neither backup will get us very far in the playoffs so we might as well use Taysom even if it’s an injury risk.

Hasn't it been stated Kamara's first available day would be Sunday the 9th?

Second point - we won't face a playoff run defense near as bad as Minnesota's.

I'm not worried about this weekend. I'm concerned this thing spreads beyond the RBs...

Re: All Saints RB’s Out Sunday

NFL would be wise to push the playoffs by a few weeks... going to be a lot more cases coming up over the next few days. Players went out and partied and spent time with large families just like most normal people.

Under normal circumstances these players would play sick like the have in all other years... but I guess a 99.99% survival rate for their age group is too risky.

If one or 2 more big name players get the cold the NFL may consider postponing the post season.

Going clubbing during an epidemic just before the playoffs isn't a very good idea.

I was at the Flora-Bama for the polar bear dip yesterday. So, I don't have room to preach but at least we were outdoors. oh, and I don't have a team to let down.

If Aaron Rogers comes down with Covid
The whole NFL will be postponed till he determines

Well...should be an interesting game. Lol. I mean...Drew has to carry the team. Unless this PS guy is some sort of beast that no one knows about.

Man...its funny how important PS players are now with the whole Covid thing going on.

Although someone did say earlier on this thread to line up Taysom at RB. That would be interesting to see. Even if he only runs it a handful of times. Lol

Re: All Saints RB’s Out Sunday

Brees plays the first half and gets some work in. Hill plays the second half behind a reserve OLine. The win won't matter in the end.

Re: All Saints RB’s Out Sunday

This is good news. Reminders of yesteryear when traveling to Seattle with Julius Jones. Exciting for you guys especially if you get to host the Redskins or Cowboys. That will be fun. The second time in history a team lost to a sub 500 ball club in the playoffs. The previous time...the Saints. Nice. SP is good
