I am not sure what to expect from Payton as I do not know what his personal drivers are. He has a net worth of +/- $25M, 1 Super Bowl trophy, 26th all time winning-est coach in the NFL, and at 56 years old he is young even by NFL standards with 9 HCs older than he is.

Does he want another SB trophy with the Saints.
Does he want another SB trophy with a different team to help get him into the HoF.
Does he want another SB with a different QB to speak to his skillset and remove the Brees shadow.
Is he comfortable where he lives and wants to work the rest of his career out living in New Orleans
Is he tired and only wants to coach Drew
Does his GF play a part in his future
Will his children effect whether he wants to live in or move out of New Orleans.

Only he knows these answers and I would take everything he says publicly with a grain of salt, he has a line to tow while he is under contract.
