Things will heat up even more after we win our second Lombardi on February 7th.

Yes, the same date as we won our first Lombardi.

No doubt we'll lose a few excellent coaches ... at least in some of our minds. There remain a few that will celebrate.

It is time for Pete Carmichael to land a head coaching job, way overdue.

If we had a practice squad coach, he would be getting the most looks.

Re: SI.com/Bob Rose | Saints Assistants Getting Attention from NFL Teams

I'm most worried about losing Nielson. He turned around the D-line and then the secondary improved. Just last year and even earlier this year we were turning on Allen and Glenn because we were a better team than we put out on the field.

They can have Fontenot though. He's been pretty much hit or miss in his time here. He only improved when my man Ireland cleaned house in the scouting department and cleared up the specifics of what we wanted from a draft pick.

I don't think Ireland will go anywhere else. He's very well paid and is well respected here in New Orleans. Change his title to whatever but keep him here doing his thing of giving us tons of talent. He failed as a GM before but is one heck of a scouting director. Why leave the perfect place for what may or may not be greener pastures?

Agreed on coach Nielsen.

At some point, I believe he’ll get a opportunity at DC.

Heck yeah, I would imagine he's been getting a lot of looks. But if he
goes who will bail out DA's a$$.

While he's an excellent position coach, there's no guarantee he is DC material. Lots of good position coaches don't transition well to coordinator. The same with coordinators transitioning to head coach. Both are significant changes.

Agreed. Pointing directly at Doug Marrone..., oof. One of the worst head coaching hires ever.
