His unilateral decision to levy unprecedented sanctions on the Saints franchise was proof enough of that.

Sean Payton challenged Goodell's authority and his motivation. Rightfully so. To us as fans it feels like we're always slighted because - speaking for myself - there wasn't justification for the heavy penalties.

I'm sure there's no love loss between the two but Goodell is nothing more than a corporate mouthpiece. He doesn't gain anything from orchestrating diabolical, multi-level schemes to defraud games through improbable plays.

He's just a dIck.

The league wants big names in big games to bring in ratings and revenue. LA is a bigger name than La. I’ve lived in and watched closely two teams have dynasties and win multiple titles under a regime in Niners and the Pats. No way is it an accident that those teams were treated to more favorable on-field calls than the Saints (and other teams). I don’t care if anyone agrees with me. It’s a simple fact that when/if the Saints go into play GB in Lambeau Field they will go into the game with one hand tied because they will be facing bad calls/no calls from the refs. Jordan will get held repeatedly with no calls. A ticky- tacK PI will be called on the Saints that will be huge while similar contact will be allowed by GB. I don’t care if anyone agrees with me. I’ve seen it too often in my 45 + years of watching football to make me think otherwise.

Raiders were (maybe still are) same way. For 20+ years I watched Raiders and Niners play each weekend. The league hated al Davis and the Raiders. It loved Eddie D. Each week I’d watch the refs screw the Raiders and help
The Niners. People use to say Saints and Niners got screwed because they wore black and it was done subconsciously. BS.

This disagrees with your previous assertion of a grudge. Does that mean your eyes are now closed?

Asking for a friend.

I’m just poking at ya. That’s for agreeing with me.:bng:

The Seahawks offense is looking completely helpless. Is it possible that the Rams could pull off this upset? We might face the winner of Bucs-Washington.

The Rams are very good defensively.

They definitely have a shot at defeating the Seachickens today.

Re: Who to pull for on Saturday

The Rams winning would be best for us in terms of avoiding going to GB. If the Rams win they’ll go to GB next week and their #1 defense will give the Packers trouble. Jalen Ramsey will erase Devante Adams.

I’ve officially decided, I want the Rams to go to GB next week and the WFT to come to NOLA.

Ugh Its initially looking like, if we win, that we'll be hosting the Bucs.

Hawks just not showed up.
WFT playing with their 4th string QB

Not crazy about playing a division opponent for a 3rd time, Brady gets all kind of ref help.

Bro we didn’t just beat them, we beat their a$$ both times we played them. That’s one of the only teams Lattimore shows up to play at an elite level against. I have no fear whatsoever of the Buccaneers.

I cannot tell you how badly I want the Rams to go beat GB next week so we can hopefully get a NFC Championship rematch against the Rams.

Seattle's season is over.

Rams offense is average but they look good defensively.

Jalen Ramsey will erase Davante Adams next week. The Rams D-Line will cause Rodgers some problems. Without Bakhtiari you can line up Aaron Donald at 5-technique over the LT and he’ll wreak havoc. This is the best possible outcome for us in terms of avoiding going to Lambeau. The Buccaneers and Redskins weren’t going to go into Lambeau and win.

Chris, shortest distance between two points is a straight line; keep Donald at the 3-tech and let him destroy Rodgers pocket, make him move - alot...

And I agree, Ramsey should shut-down Davante, exposing GBs lack of weapons...

Yes indeed, but Rodgers is very dangerous on the move. You have to move Donald around. The Packers will have a much stronger interior O-Line than tackles. You have to keep Rodgers contained when Adams is locked down by Ramsey. It’s a fascinating matchup.

Rams strategy is to contain with DEs, use physical, fast defensive tackles to crush on the inside; Rams did a great job of containing Russell Wilson, who I'd consider the more athletic scrambler vs Aaron Rodgers...

The Bucs literally didn’t score a TD in their house the last time we played them. Are we supposed to be scared of them?

It’s hard to pull a hat trick (Ref TB) though we did it in 2000 against StLRams in our first play-off win.

Ooops - my bad, i was wrong - we lost the last game of the season that year to the rams and beat them in the playoffs the next week. Sorry.

The Bucs as I explained to a Packers friend of mine who was scared of them... have only beaten one team this season with a winning record.

The Buccaneers beat the Packers early in the season and no one else they beat has a winning record. Too many people letting the NFL marketing machine get into their heads.

Incorrect; the Saints have beaten 2 teams with a winning record.

The Bears were 5-3 and the Bucs were 6-3.

Not the case here, Saints beat them by 11 the first game and 35 the second. I get what you are saying about beating a team 3 times in a season is hard, but the Saints know they can beat this team. Bucs know it too.

Boston Saint 01-10-2021 09:59 AM

Re: Who to pull for on Saturday

I know we are all pulling for the Saints hard and there is no way to compare fandom...but it is gonna suck so hard if the Saints don’t win. My a-hole poker group pat/Brady fans here try to get under my skin all the time. They fully pull for Tampa and send barbs my way daily. I take high road and handle it well. And I did enjoy the first two meetings and they bragging rights. But now, to need to win in order to face them again in playofffs....man that would suck to put up with that.

It's been reported that Donald XRay's came back negative and he'll be good to go next Sunday. Apparently he could have returned to the Seattle game but they held him out as an extra precaution.
