Sean Payton ‘Should Be Considered In National Coach Of The Year Conversations,’ Says CBS’s Tracy Wolfson

“The job that Sean Payton has done, he doesn’t get enough credit for it,” says Wolfson. “Certainly should be considered in National Coach of the Year conversations for what he has been able to do. I think Michael Thomas and Drew Brees have played just 10 quarters together this whole entire season. That is incredible. It’s just next-man-up mentality, and he’s been able to utilize those guys, get that depth that he needed. Look how he took Ty Montgomery and placed him into a role last week, he had over 100 yards, and you didn’t miss Alvin Kamara at all. What he has been able to do has been incredible.”

And... while there have been a few nutty offensive play calls this year, it feels like there have been about 90 percent less than usual this year.

An unreliable source reported that Loomis limited the amount of Juicy Fruit Sean can have on the sideline.
It appears that all the Sugar rushing to Coach's head caused him to call all those Fungo plays.

It’s nothing he did special, that happened this season , but he and the mickster etc, has put together some of the best depth this team has ever had, it’s not a fixture of the corona season, or injuries. Look at the Broncos , the ravens, Cleveland without depth

I disagree. What Payton has done with the Saints while missing key players is nothing short of amazing. And every facet of the organization deserves credit for success but Payton more so.

Exactly. Missing his starting QB for a 4th of the season, the NFC Offensive Player of the Year (Thomas) for half the season, and his entire RB corps for a game and still earning the #2 seed is definitely deserving.

If you watched the games it's obvious that he does well with backups and that is a testament to coaching. Specifically Sean Payton.
