login timeout

is there a particular reason to have a timeout on login?
when i do actually bother to sign in...i read a few posts but always have other things going on as well
when i get back to bng...it forgot who i am
i rarely bother to sign in anymore though i do believe this is the best saints site and get 95 percent of my info from bng
personally i leave the puter on 24/7 and would remain logged in other than for reboot or server down time
just wondering what the reasoning is for the timeout

p.s. this is equally frustrating on mobile fone as i sort through page after page on a slower connection

Do click "remember me" on the login box? Or do you sign in from the front page or the forum? If you can describe more we'll look into it. For server load purposes cookies expire after 15 minutes. That way we don't bog down things for no reason.

While you reply, we can check things to make sure we haven't missed something or whether we can or should change that number to something higher.

i'm just accustomed to making sure all boxes are unchecked on other sites
that ask to store information
