VooDoo holding tryout camp in Jackson, Miss.

METAIRIE -- The New Orleans VooDoo of the Arena Football League will hold a free-agent tryout camp on Aug. 6 in Jackson, Miss.
Coach Mike Neu said the camp will be held at Millsaps College. In addition to the VooDoo staff, New Orleans Saints personnel will be on hand to assist with the workouts.

The VooDoo has conducted tryouts since beginning play in 2004 and nine players have signed contracts with the team the past two seasons as a result of the workouts.

Wide receivers, defensive backs and quarterbacks must arrive by 8 a.m. for registration, while offensive and defensive linemen, fullbacks and linebackers should arrive by 12:30 p.m. Candidates must be dressed and ready to work out and have appropriate shoes for running on Sprinturf. Kickers will not be evaluated at the camp.

Participants will be required to sign a waiver. Players must complete a registration form and pay a $50 registration fee (cash or money orders made payable to the New Orleans VooDoo).
