Robert Meachem recovering well from knee surgery

On the list of things you want to hear about your new free agent signing at wide receiver, the fact that he had knee surgery a few months ago is pretty low on the list.

Thatís just what the Chargers had with Robert Meachem, although it doesnít seem like the operation should have much impact on his 2012 season. Meachem admitted to having arthroscopic surgery shortly after the end of the Saintsí season ó he got hurt in the regular season finale, but played in both playoff games ó and told Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune that his recovery has been smooth as could be.

I doubt it. 4 years, $26 million is the reason the Saints let him go.

We couldn't afford him.
