Cam Newton is one of the NFL’s more elusive quarterbacks, a point he proved once again on Sunday when he ran seven times for 45 yards and a score. But he’s also long been evading one of the surest tacklers around: the NFL’s uniform policy.

As I watched Newton and the Panthers dismantle the Giants en route to a 38-0 victory, I noticed something peculiar about Newton’s helmet. Attached to each side of his facemask are what appear to be black pieces of metal or plastic, which are the clips that affix the clear visor that Newton wears. And upon each those little black clips is an Under Armour UA +0.15% logo:

I'm not sure. That article is from earlier in the year. If the league hasn't fined or said anything to him, he probably is.

Under Armor paid him over $1 million dollars a year...to take a $10,000 fine in one game, or every game, is not really going to matter much to Cam. Same thing with RGIII...the fines are smaller than the amount of money they make from the marketing deals, so it's not a factor....not sure why the league lets them get away with it (popularity?), but they do....until the refs don't let him on the field with the helmet.....but they won't because he is Cam.
