Lose-lose, but the most urgent threat to the economy is over for now. Let's see how much damage this "deal" does.

They didn't do anything but raise the limit on the ceiling. All the rambling about corp taxes, loopholes, the wealthy... they should just say we know what the problems are but there is no way we are touching it. How are we going to get re-elected? Come on people, don't be silly.

You're right! No loopholes touched and no taxes touched. You can't fix the debt and deficit if you're tool bag is half empty going in. We only have two tools: taxes and spending cuts.

I'm not into politics but why can't we do something like invest in fiber optics and grid the whole country in like 10 years. Jobs, jobs, people buying homes again, creating small businesses, getting people off of welfare, companies manufacturing parts/materials. And we would have bragging rights of the fastest most reliable iternet on the planet.

I agree. Our infrastructure gets a "D" and we don't seem to have any intention to make it better. Building roads and running wire are jobs and that's what we need most.
