Is Brees comeback QB of the year?

Garcia, 24% (What a season he's having, IMO he comes in second behind Brees, I put Brees ahead of him because of the injury Brees had last season and that not to many people thought he'd ever be the same, he proved them wrong..)

As great a season Brees is having, To me Jeff Garcia deserves Comeback Player.
Brees had that injury, but when he left San Deigo, he was already a proven player and the top Free Agent on the market. There was more than just us bidding for him.
Garcia, on the other hand, played in the shadows of Steve Young and Joe Montana at San Fransisco. After that, he plays for Cleveland (only starts 10 games) and basically plays back-up to Joey Harrington in that NFL wasteland Detroit.
Then a struggling Philly team has their #1 stud QB go down and when Garcia steps in, everyone write Philly off.
But just the opposite happens. Garcia steps up bigtime and the Eagles are right back in the playoff picture.

Garcia being Comeback Player is as absurd as Romo going to the Pro Bowl. Garcia has been playing well, but he has only done it for 4 or 5 games. That's not long enough to evaluate whether he is really on some sort of comeback or if he's just on a hot streak.

If the Pro Bowl voting was done like it should be done (after the season or at least after most of the season was played), I think Romo's chances of getting in would be lessened. He, like Garcia, had 4 or 5 good games. Now he has cooled off and isn't playing as well.

Brees on the other hand was written off by coaches like Shottenheimer and Saban in favor of a QB with very little, if any, experience and a QB who was recovering from 3 torn ligaments in his knee. That shows just how little NFL personnel thought of Brees' chance of recovery. Now he's leading the NFL in passing and taking a team with a woeful history to one of, if not THE, best seasons ever. I'd say that is one heck of a comeback.

Palmer, McNair and Pennington are all good choices for the honor - especially Pennington for all the troubles he's had the past couple of years. However, none of these are having the year that Brees is having.

I would love for Brees to win...
Heck I wish The Saints could sweep every award.
But,
the fact is... Brees never missed a game. So what was he coming back from?
If we gave awards to guys who were "written off" or guys "people didn't believe in," wouldn't that taint the likes of Garrison Hearst who won the award after suffering a career-threatening injury?

Brees was an injured cast-off who was even rejected by Miami. He may have had a decent year last season (not a playoff year!), but given the injury he had and the situation he was "relegated" to, I'd say he's done more to deserve both MVP and Comeback than any player that could be named.
