Parcells retires... Payton front runner to replace him???

Q: Did you call Parcells to wish him luck?

A: No, I called him about something else and he shared with me what he was planning on doing. Since then it's been announced. I was actually calling to discuss a couple of meeting ideas.

Q: Do you expect to see your name floated for that job?

A: No. We're like players. We're under contract. I'm happy to be here under contract with New Orleans. This is the spot for me.

Payton won't leave, it seems he loves it in N.O and knows he has a chance in getting to the Super Bowl one day soon, look what Sean did in his first season, he wants to build on that, not leave and wonder what could have been....
Let's not get a head of ourselves here, we just came off the biggest season in Saints history....
One play Sean won't want, T.O, no chance in that happening..

Even if Sean could leave he wouldn't. He has done a helluva job down in N.O. and you can bet that he believes it is unfinished. With a few more of his player selections, we will become even harder to defeat in '07. For the first time in a while I'm looking forward to bigger and better things from the Saints.

This is a no brainer... first Benson would have to give Cowboys permission to talk to Payton and that has not even come up. First year as a head coach and he accomplished more than any coach has ever did in the history of PRO sports, taking over a team with only 3 wins and lead them into a confrence championship game. There has only been 3 coaches to take over a team with 3 wins and lead them into the playoffs... one being Vince Lombardi (Heard of him?). Yeah Benson maybe not be the smartest person in the world but he ain't no dummy.
