Brees Back In the Zone

Let's keep him in the zone by taking some of the pressure off, and run the ball. If he thinks that he has to do it all, we put him back in a position to start to force it again. Let's give him a run weapon for his arsenal to keep defenses honest, and off of his back. Brees is throwing well and of late, has had the time to make good throws. Receivers are running good routes and have awakened from dream-drop-land. We have nine longggggg weeks left to position ourselves to make a run for the gold. Payton/Brees should use the run to make defenses pad the box, then we can get a LOT of one-on-one with Colston, Patten, and company. Brees doesn't have to do it all, and I hope he is not made to think so.

“I think I’ve had quite a few games like that, but looking back I kind of felt like we had great rhythm and great tempo,” Brees said Wednesday. “I’m kind of kicking myself on a couple of throws. I wish I could have them back. I feel I missed an opportunity for a couple more completions. But I’ll take that performance every time as long as we get the ‘W.’ ”

I don't know about you guys, but I'm voting Brees in '08.

“He’s just getting started. I’m confident in Drew that he’s going to do his thing regardless,” Bush said. “He obviously had a rough start, but we all did.

“We’re all in this together. We had a rough start, but we lost those games together. It’s not just him. But at the end of the day, he played a great game last week.”

Make that Brees/Bush in '08.
