i think that would take away from the point.....if we think that DT is our biggest need...getting rid of our DEs would only make it worse....dorsey is not more talented than will smith even tho the game style they bring is different....i just dont think the saints are interested enough in moving up to get a DT

why trade from the weak side of the ball? Canton is right. two steps forward one step back.
how about from the offense? Brown?

Re: dorsey for either grant or smith?

As far as I am concerned, both Grant and Smith should be completely off limits. I know they both had rough seasons last year, but both are borderline superstars and should bounce back in a big way. DE is one of the most difficult positions in football, and the Saints are lucky to have two that are better than average. If the Saints give up on either of these guys, it could possibly be an easy 10 year gap before they are adequately replaced. So to answer the question, NO, I would not pawn Grant or Smith for Dorsey. As much as I would love to see Dorsey in a Saints uniform, it's simply not worth giving up on either starting DE.

An impact DT like Ellis or Dorsey makes our DE's better...instantly and substantialy.

I wouldn't be suprised if something like this was to happen. Lets not forget that with Jim Hazlett calling the shots on defense he may still be interested in a player he already know off the Saints team.
