I never dreamed the site would turn out like this!!

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; why would anybody make up a story about being an originator of the site? Its not like they have groupies. Like traffic reporters.... I believe him. In fact the name sounds familiar. Halo would tell us if it werent true....

The File on Rick Hernandez

I am a System Administrator now (unfortunately) living in Houston. I lived in New Orleans until 1993 when I moved to Baton Rouge. I presently administer a 55 node network for a seismic processing company. I have three kids with one on the way (God help me !!!!).

I attended Brother Martin and UNO while in New Orleans and had a short stint in the military. The first year the Saints had a winning record and went to the playoffs, I was in Germany. I came back in time to see the Saints in the earlier 1990's.

Motto: Any bug, sufficiently advanced, is indistinguishable from a feature.

Favorite Saints memory: Watching Joe Montana run out of time at Candlestick as the Saints revenge an earlier 24-22 loss in the Dome in 1987.

Worst Saints memory: The 35-7 debacle at the hands of Pittsburgh that turned out to be the turning point of Jim Mora's career in New Orleans.

Well Rick... it good to see you were vindicated. I stand corrected.
Please accept my apology. Welcome back aboard.

And just for the record... I didn't invent that other site.

Dude, I am so with you on that.

Seems that one group of folks can do whatever they like over there without fear of consequence, but other use the wrong word to sarcastically refer to that week's opponent, and your mailbox fills up with "Infractions" and crap. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was when I was viciously personally attacked by another poster, reported it to moderators in order to not get all nasty in the public forum, and somehow I ended up getting banned in the process. Still can't quite understand it, and of course nobody would ever answer my e-mails on the matter.

Moderating staff over there is a bunch of skid mark stains.

I don't think I act much, if at all, differently over here as I did over there...and so far no trouble here.

I could not help but comment on this. I am reminded of the time when the Saints had just lost a heartbreaker and I tuned in to the Hap Glaudi show afterwards. I was dumbfounded when I heard them talking about LSU immediately after the Saints game. I was so PO'd that I had to call Hap and complain...and he agreed and urged everyone to talk about the Saints. It didn't help.

LB, when did Hap retire? I'm trying to remember if I ever heard him. I
think Buddy D. is as far back as I go.

When he retired, somewhere in the late 80's, it was permanent. He died of cancer. His show, for the record, was called Hap's Point After.

ok... but Buddy D was doing the show around '84, right?

Was Hap the 1st Point After guy for the Saints? Or maybe they had someone else in '67?
