Could not be more disappointed in the Saints.....

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; 4,000 tickets for us? Seriously, out of the 12-13,000 they got? I mean is Tom Benson that greedy that all he releases to the season ticket holders is 4,000 tickets? I guess he can make money off of them so ...

I guess I need to do some research on what is normal, but that seems like a load or crap to me.

It's a shame that the Super Bowl has nothing to do with the real fans even though without us supporting a team like the Saints for 44 years there would be no Super Bowl.

P.S. I am just bitter right now that I didn't win the lottery.

Re: Could not be more disappointed in the Saints.....

I believe it's pretty standard...the Super Bowl is all about money...I can't stress that enough. Benson probably made some arrangements when he took over the team back in the mid 80's, and now it's come full circle. No worries, though...there is NO HOMEFIELD ADVANTAGE in the Super Bowl. All the glamor folks will be attending this one, but who's to say that we can't have an a__load of fans in Miami making noise from beyond. Let's see how the Colts ownership distributes their tickets and we can go from there on this one. This is brand new territory for our management/ownership, and if I owned the Saints, all my buddies that's helped me out in the 20+ years of owning this franchise would get guaranteed tickets, no questions asked. Yes, the fans deserve much more than a lousy 4K ticket grab, but you must consider the venue. This ain't no normal game.

Again, I am just bitter!

I am going to just start watching EBay. Hopefully the prices come down a bit now that the tickets from the teams have flooded the market.

They should all be up for grabs with no preference to certain individuals.
equal allotments for both teams and first come first serve or lottery for all.

thats a normal number. If you are looking at going, tickets are always cheaper in the parking lot

Re: Could not be more disappointed in the Saints.....

Friends of mine who have attended Super Bowls have told me that the Super Bowl is really not worth the time, hassle, and expense. Most of the people at the Super Bowl could care less about either team and are there merely to be seen. It won't feel anything close to a home game or even a road game because at least then you get to see the passion of the other team's fans.

The real party is going to be in New Orleans. One minute after the Saints win, almost every Saints fan in that stadium is going to wish they were in the French Quarter for the celebration. It will be a party like no one has ever seen before. It will be a raw, passionate and authentic outpouring of joy and happiness from several hundred thousand people who actually love the Saints, unlike what it will feel like in Miami. No wonder some charter flights are going to leave two hours after the game so the passengers can get back for the celebration.

If you still want to go to the game, wait until next week when the online sites like Stubhub start dropping their prices. You should find a ticket under a thousand. Then find a reasonably priced hotel an hour north of Miami. Good luck.

I understand that, and trust me if I cannot get a ticket there is no way I am going. I am going to be in New Orleans unless I can get tickets in advance and make plans.

I get that people at the game don't care about it, but I do and I will care if I am there. I don't need others to care to have a good time. I just want to be there because I, like many others around here, live and die with this team. I always wanted to experience a Super Bowl and why not check that off my list the one time my Saints are in it?

Thanks for the information about the ticket prices. I am defintely going to keep my eyes on the prices and make a decision probably Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

Its a bit of an exaggeration to say people are only there to be seen. However it is certainly a different crowd than a game at the superdome. The crowd will be football fans, almost all of them will have a team they are cheering for, however many of them are cheering for the 2 large they have on the game.

It's an older crowd (not sure if that's good or bad for you) and there is tons to do the week of, and day of the game. However once the game is over, you'd probably wish you were in new orleans. There won't be tons to do except go for a beer then go home.

However it is a very unique experience, good to do once, I suppose, but go because you have a few days of things planned, not just the 3 hours. If all you care about is the 3 hours, then just go to bourbon.

As for ticket prices, not many buyers go to the stadium looking for tickets, however tons go to sell tickets. Compared to websites, it's very much a buying market ... if you call paying a grand for a ticket a buyers market.
