Oh, I also have a few morter shells and rolls of firecrackers for after the game... Will one of you come bail me out?

WHO-DAT!!!!

Yeah the Hilton isn't that far from where will be staying, and a quick walk to FQ when all hell breaks loose after the closing gun...

Cargojon, got any info on the Hilton? give us some input.

ok guys, we may have found our spot. Just spoke with the Pope of the Hou-Dats, here in Houston ,(our local chapter of Hou-Dat Nation) Ed. (SuperDome on this board) For those who havent met him, he's about as New Orleans as it gets. Dome didnt know Mardi Gras was not a national holiday till about age 21.

Anyway, Im hearing disturbing reports about $190 cover charges disguised as "special fan packages." Without removing democracy from this discussion, I think I can speak for the group in saying, we dont want none of that.

So after much research we have come up with Inn on Bourbon as a really nice candidate. 10 dollar cover. Thats reasonable, considering.

heres the menu: Jambalaya; Sausage & Chicken Gumbo; BBQ Pork Sandwich; Hot Dogs; Wings; Fried Oysters; Nacho’s w/guacamole cheese & jalapenos; Potato Salad; Cobb Salad; Fresh Baked Cookies; Zapps Chips. Each item is ordered as an individual serving.

One deal with them, they're not taking reservations, so I'd have to get there early & get us a table. Somebody else would probably need to come early too.

of course, its INN ON BOURBON, so its going to kinda be in the middle of things, to say the least.

discussion?

My wife and I are sort of leaning towards Deanies right now. I know it's a little pricey at $125 a person plus tip but open bar and food plus being in there with Bobby and the pregame show and point after not to mention during the game sounds interesting. Still not 100% sure but that's what we are leaning towards.

I wish I could afford Deanies.

Hey, even if we dont all go to the same place, we can certainly hang before and after.

Here's one place I think we should stop in our carousing saturday night:
Can you see the fountain?

718 saint peter street, new orleans - Google Maps

I know what you mean about affording deanies but as my wife said last night that I was ready to fly to Miami so if I was willing to pay a few grand to go to Miami I could spare $300 or so to go to Deanies. Hopefully this is the first of many trips but you don't get to play in the superbowl every year so spend the money and enjoy the ride. The way I see it is that I'll be brown bagging lunch until the end of March but oh well.

I stayed at the Hilton in Jan 07 when we came down for the Eagles playoff game. Nice place, I don't have any specific into on their program for the SB though...We'll be staying near the convention center this time...

Well, we went the Deanies route. Assign seating at the bar, all you can eat and drink $125. I think I can do some damage on the all you can drink part.
