10 QUESTIONS WITH CHASE DANIEL
Who's the one figure in football you admire the most?
"Probably Troy Aikman, because I grew up in Irving where the old Cowboys Stadium used to be. Growing up and watching him and Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin, so probably Troy."
Any pre-game superstitions?
"Not that I know of. In college, we always stayed in the same room in the hotel, and me and my backup always had the same routine that we went through, but it was probably three pages long, so you probably don't want that."
Who was your favorite coach, high school or college?
"I really liked my first coach, Coach (Todd) Dodge, who's at UNT right now. He coached me at Southlake Carroll. But also Coach (Gary) Pinkel and Coach (David) Yost, who was my offensive coordinator at Missouri as well."
Who's your favorite musical artist?
"Not really. I just listen to everything. Rap, rock, country being from Texas."
What's your favorite pre-game meal?
"Just give me some chicken and some spaghetti and I'll be good. And some green beans."
What is your best football memory?
"My best football memory is probably when we rose to No. 1 in the nation at Mizzou in 2007. We beat Kansas. They were No. 2 at the time, we were No. 4. We were ranked No. 1 in the nation for a week, and we were one game away from going to the national championship that year."
Who is your biggest fan?
"Probably my dad. My dad and my mom. My parents, my whole family. They're at every single game. They'll be at every preseason game this year. They were last year even though I didn't play as much in the preseason. I think they missed one entire college game. They were in Hawaii for their anniversary, so I guess I'll let it slide."
If you weren't playing football what career would you pursue?
"Playing baseball, hopefully. That would be sweet. Or maybe sportscasting or something like that. ... I would have been drafted in like the late, late rounds as a pitcher, which wasn't worth it to me. So who knows how that could have worked out."
What other position would you like to play?
"Safety. Just seeing back there, like a quarterback of the defense, quarterback of the secondary. Just be like Darren Sharper, just roaming free out there, hitting people, intercepting passes, returning them for touchdowns."
What's your favorite sport other than football?
"I like golf, to play. I'm horrible at it. And honestly, I like to watch some basketball, just seeing the freak athletes they are, how tall they are, how quick they move. It's pretty cool."
" Anyone can take a picture Only a Photographer can take a photograph "
