SAN FRANCISCO -- Winners simply find ways to win. And again this night, the Saints did.

“As long as you find a way to win in this league, it’s a great win,” said Saints safety Darren Sharper. “You can’t worry about how tough it is, how it comes. You’ve just got to find a way to win. One game we’re going to play, our offense is going to put up 50 points and we might give up 40. So we’ve got to be able to get each other’s back, cover each other up on both sides, and just find a way to win as a team.”

Earlier this week 49ers coach Mike Singletary promised, “We will stop Drew Brees.” Brees was 28 for 38 for 254 yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions.

He wouldn’t admit to being stopped, and statistics indicate he was merely slowed down.

“Well, won the game,” Brees said. “And that’s all that counts.
