GAME BALLS

OFFENSE-
Deuce-I'm giving him a game ball because I know he'd give it right back to me and say "I don't deserve it after two fumbles"
That’s class and in the NFL its rare.
Brooks-Debateable because as good as he looked late, he looked just as bad earlier. But when the game was on the line, he delivered. That strike to Lewis was sweet.

DEFENSE-
Fred Thomas-He's too small and too slow, but continues to make play after play.
Darren Howard-Stats don't show how disruptive he was, even though he looked rusty at times. (Could go to entire D-line also, they gave up a couple big runs but still basically dominated).
Jay Bellamy-The "WEAK-LINK" continues to make plays.

SPECIAL TEAMS-
John Carney-I also loved this guy during his 1st tenure here, when his name was Andersen.

COACHING-
Venturi-Take away 2 plays by mighty-mouse and we absolutely totally dominated the Falcons.

STAND IN THE CORNER-
Linebackers-Only because I rarely heard their names. Man I wish we had an Urlacher or Lewis, or Brooking, or Brooks.
McCarthy-Still WAY too predictable. Falcon LB's were unblocked and nailed Deuce 3 yards behind line on several occasions. It was like we let them chose which play we ran.

TEAM GRADE-B
Played bad early, but sucked it up and delivered when it counted. I've seen the Saints quit this type of game 1000 times before. This team is starting to resemble something I'm unfamiliar with in New Orleans.

I agree with you totally on all fronts tweeky with one exception. I\'d grade the team a C+ simply because they didn\'t play 4 quarters of football.

And bronze that ball before you give it to Deuce. That man has more heart in him than most teams in the NFL. He is rare. He is amazing. He defines the word \"Class\". Maybe it\'s a stretch (or maybe it\'s not) but I think he\'s the best football player ever to wear the Black and Gold...Period!

I agree also tweeky. Just to add a couple of things.

I want to mention that Orlando Ruff led all tacklers yesterday.

Rick Venturi took all the blame for the defense and now I give him all the credit. Good job Rick.......

Are you kidding me?
I would never have guessed that at all.
But as with most Saints wins I\'ll watch it 3 or 4 times this week and take notice I\'m sure.
I may FF the 1st half though

This is the first time I can remember a linebacker leadiing in tackles. Maybe it\'s because Grady didn\'t have his fat azz out there -- :P

Saintfan - again we agree. Deuce is the best... assuming he keeps it up. Archie played with that kind of heart and class, but not that type of success. If Deuce can keep doing it, he\'ll undoubtedly be the best to wear the black and gold.

Wouldn\'t go that far... YET. Another year or so from Deuce and I\'ll agree. Dalton basically did what Deuce is doing, but for several years.

Best Ever IMO...
Archie Manning
Rickey Jackson
Sam Mills
Deuce McAllister (but rising fast)
Morten Andersen
Willie Roaf
Vaughn Johnson
Pat Swilling
Wayne Martin
Eric Martin
