Can someone please help...

I am getting a little confused as to when we were established. I always believed that we were established in 1966 as that was when we got the franchise but some say it was '67 as that was when we played our first game. A minor thing I know but I have always had '66 in my head. Any thoughts on this extremely trivial matter?

If you read Jeff Duncan's book From Bags to Riches, it has all the details how Louisiana politics were involved in getting the franchise. Highly recommend the book for all Saints Fans.

I moved to Louisiana in the summer of 1967 and have been a Saints fan from the beginning.
