New Orleans Saints Week 12 Pregame: Giants @ Saints Preview

The 25-game all time series between the New Orleans Saints and the New York Giants currently stands at 14-11 in favor of the team from the Big Apple, while the team from the Big Easy looks to further close the gap between them with a first ever winning streak of 3-in-a-row. New Orleans has only ever won two meetings in a row against the G-Men one other time, prior to this current Payton era streak (2006, 30-7 in NY and 2009, 48-27 in NO), way back in 1969 by the score of 25-24 on the road and immediately again in 1970 by a final of 14-10 at home.

The Saints don’t lag too far behind in terms of points scored in these head-to-head regular season matchups with the Giants either. New York holds a narrow 522 to 495 points for lead over the Saints at the present time.

New Orleans could have been going for their 5th straight victory over the Giants if their 2005 season “home” game hadn’t been played in New York the year of Hurricane Katrina. The Saints had beaten the Giants at home in 2003 by the score of 45-7, only to lose to New York, in New York, in a “home” game 10-27 for their very next meeting in 2005. The Giants haven’t won at the Superdome since a 24-14 triumph on December 20, 1993 and have gone 0-3 in their last three visits to the the Southeastern Louisiana bayou.

The New Orleans Saints are currently 21-7 at home since the 2008 regular season and 7-2 on Monday Night Football since Sean Payton took over as head coach before the 2006 season.

Kinda busy keeping an eye on the Failcons and BiQueens game, where it looks like Roddy (Push Off) White has gotten an early start training Wholio Jones the art of the push off.

Getting back to our game with the Giants, I could see us activating all 4 RB's and putting in some innovative plays and formations that no one's ever seen before for this game.

I agree with the idea of going in with all 4 RB's active and pounding it out against the Giants like never before!

No bout adout it Mitch! Health matters in this league, a lot!

I say we rest Jon Vilma at least one more week to let him fully recover from the clean-up surgery he had on his knee before coming back for our run into the playoffs and beyond...

Question is, who will we make inactive with everyone so healthy? WR Adrian Arrington should probably sit again, along with maybe C/G Matt Tennant, DB Johnny Patrick, TE Michael Higgins and T Pat McQuistan (along with TE Turk McBride and Vilma). What do y'all think?
