Trotter can only be a force if he has the people inside at the DT position to take the pressure off of him.....he can make tackles one on one but he is not at his best when he has to shed blockers.....I agree with what Boogro said when he says that Trotter can be a player as long as he has the help up front and it is no secret he didnt have that in Washington.....also he can probably be had for a fifth rounder.

MLB\'s are mostly supposed to be free\'d up by the DT\'s anyway. We just need improved play from our DT\'s, that was one of our biggest problems last season, especially after getting rid of Grady Jackson...

Thanks for the insight buddy, i know MLB\'s are supposed to be freed by DT\'s. What i was saying is that the Saints have made a move to upgrade the DT position by acquiring Brian Young....and i was thinking with he and Sullivan inside, a beast like Trotter could roam around the middle of the field and lay some people out. The DT\'s he played with in Washington were crap (Does the name Martin Chase ring a bell?) He could be a force in the black and gold next year with the strength of our d-line.

Aaaaaayyyyyy!!

This would be an excellent pickup; for the right price. Trotter is only 27 years old and has the experience and physical ability to be a field general in the middle. If Snyder had not put the Redskins in salary cap hell, Trotter would probably not be available. He had average years in Washington with NO defensive line. Imagine what he might do in N.O. with a young, explosive line.
