Tommy Tucker has a good theory on all of this

Was listening to 870 on the way to work and Tommy has a theory that, the more I think about it, the more it makes sense.

There is a pending lawsuit from MANY former players about medical problems they got from playing football. One of the things about it is the whole concussion and heady injury stuff. They are claiming the NFL didn't do anything to help protect players.

Now we have this Bounty crap, and the NFL HAS to make a big deal about it because of the lawsuit and how it would look if they don't.

So we are going to be the poster child because of all this outside stuff going on. They have to use us to help there case against the former players.

It all adds up. The reason why we are not hearing anything about the other pay for performance and only hearing about 2 things, stretcher and knocking a player out. It all positioning and why all along I have felt there is an agenda here.

What do ya'll think about that?

Uhm yeah,

That is the whole point to all this... bounty to hurt players is the real issue to all this.

I do think some of the stink is going to wash off soon once they really point the stink finger at Williams who is with the Rams now.

I agree with Euphoria on this. The damage control is going to be fairly easy, this was Williams' deal and happened on his watch. It would not surprise me one bit if it eventually comes out to light, that Loomis or Payton or somebody DID ask Williams to stop it, and he didn't, he was going rogue, so that could have been a factor in (a) the icy cool vibes between Payton and Williams during Williams' last year here and (b) the reason his contract as DC was not renewed by the Saints. Not trying to sweep this under the rug, these are serious charges, but with a lot of this mess the spinner is eventually going to stop spinning and be pointing squarely at Gregg Williams, and lo and behold, now we hear the league are looking at this practice with the Redksins, while Williams was there, too.

I think Williams may get the worse suspension/discipline, which hurts the Rams; Loomis gets a fine, and Payton maybe even a smaller penalty.

I think the league will try to make a example of those involved.
We had a incident in soccer in the uk recently which I won't go in to but the player was heavily suspended for,it was more to make a point than a correct length of ban.

Anyway I think they will take those involved to tasks for it and Williams will get a long term/permanent ban,we will loose picks this year and next and a fine.I wouldn't be surprised if Peyton and Loomis had some sort of ban aswell.

The best thing the league could do would be to hold some sort of amnesty to teams admit to doing this and start a clean slate and if teams are found guilty in future there can be no excuses.

League is going to make a BIG deal out of this.
I think Williams' leaving was foresight and pre-positioning in light of the ongoing investigation.
We won't skate, but we wiil be far better off with Williams no longer around.
