You guys may call me crazy for this idea, but how about getting Dick Vermeil out of retirement for one year to coach the Saints? He can let Pete Carmichael do his thing with the offense, and let Steve Spagnolo do his thing with the defense. All Vermeil has to do is be an administrator, show up for press conferences, put on a pretty smile, and call it a day. A guy like Vermeil could clean up this situation, hand the keys back to Sean Payton, and tell him not to screw it up again.

Gruden and Payton are tight and Gruden has always been on the Saints wagon.

Tuna, would be great...

Vermiel - respect his accomplishments - couldn't take the crying...

Chucky - I'd hate it when he'd have to leave - though he could geaux up the road and take over LSU when Les Miles year long implosion finally comes to an end when the LSU Board finally "gets it"...

Or we could head player suspensions off and hire Art Shell...

Hell, with this staff, team, and Coach Payton's setup - I could be Coach for a year...and I'd promise no double reverses

My press conferences would be Jim Morrison meets the Soup Nazi with a few General Patton's slaps throw in - even Tuna would be proud...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Gruden? I like that. Not likely, but I like it. Whoever it is will need to represent the Who Dat nation and our underdog status for this year.

no reason to mix it up. Sprags has HC exp and Charmichael is a great OC. We are in good hands.

Like Matthew T said all we need is an administrator. Someone to keep the wheels from falling off and maybe rotate the tires when needed. It would need to be a high profile guy like the Tuna. I have always respected him and considered him my favorite coach up until Payton came here.
They worked together before and Parcells just might like the idea of a year back just to get his heart pumping again. I've got to say I like it . A lot!

Why is everyone so against Spags as the Interim Head Coach. He's got the most recent head coaching experience of the bunch. That and, he came into this mess and I think that would show appreciation by the organization for his coming aboard during this time of crisis and not just saying, hey, I didn't plan on this kind of thing happening, I want to tear up my contract and he just might be able to do that considering the circumstances.
