Could Martez be moving to DE?
Thats about 10-15 pounds away from a good RDE size (there are many smaller than that). With Spags history of developing D-linemen, I wonder if we'll see more and more of Wilson lined up at RDE instead of OLB? Options are good. |

only way to know for sure if we plan on moving him is if we overpay him and then watch him play like crap

If Vilma is suspended I think he starts at LB, along with Hawthorne, and Lofton...

He could probably make the transition, but I like him where he's been playing.

He was the top rated defensive end prospect out of highschool, and for whatever reason they moved him to linebacker at Illinois. But it worked out pretty well for him. Point is, he has played the position before.
I think he can develop into a monster wherever they put him. With the additions at linebacker and Bunkley at DT, we now have a much more glaring need for a quality DE, in my opinion. I don't think Cam Jordan will ever be a good pass rushing end, so perhaps Spags will do something with Martez. |

I also have high hopes for Gallette and Romeus, so I could see Wilson being used as somewhat of a hybrid like Demarcus Ware and Terrell Suggs. Gallette could do that as well, I believe, but Wilson is prototypical with his size and speed.
I look forward to seeing what Spag's comes up with. |

Wherever he can make the best impact that's where you put him, I'd prefer him to be an OLB because he'd be such a freakish looking blitzer from OLB, either way he's going to be a beast

Why not?
With the new LB additions it might get crowded there, so if Spags wants to try him out as a DE, I see nothing problematic about it. He has adequate size and with more and more LTs/RTs being of the skyscraper variety, a smaller stature might be beneficial for a dip move to get past them. His experience as a LB would also give him the added benefit of being able to comfortably drop back into the coverage if needed, like some of the best DEs around the league are able to do when called upon. Any way they can find to get him on the field and in a role where he can make an impact is a good move in my book. |
