We should be very careful about wanting the CBA voided... It will not just void a paragraph...

I love Vilma as much as the rest but if the CBA is voided and there is a strike until there is a new one agreed upon I am going to be PISSED!

Not me. I'd dance a jig. This 'all powerful' commissioner idea must go. It is clear - it is without question - that Roger Goodell is not operating in the interest of honor as he suggests but rather his actions are 1000% agenda based and he has demonstrated that he will throw any and all under the bus without due process in favor of this agenda. And all this as opposed to the NFL simply recognizing the underhanded nature of its actions and stepping up and doing the right thing.

So if it comes to a Voided CBA and a strike then so be it. Nobody in America, guilty or innocent, deserves the lack of a fair process. This is the time to sacrifice and to do whatever it takes.

I get what you are saying but how awesome would it be if it is voided. Another failure for Godell would be very nice. He blew this all out of proportion and I hope he suffers for it. He wanted a specticle, well now he has one!!

Agreed! The last thing I want is a NFL work stoppage, I'd go crazy if the season got delayed and shortened or canceled all together.

I agree, especially with the Dome being the site of the SB.

If the decision is "the CBA was not followed" not sure what would actually occur, but may result in some type of appeal, grievance, lockout, stoppage.

The owners, players, league definately do not want a work stoppage (especially now that camps have opened), so both sides could be ready to actually deal on some items. They would have to leave some of the more contentious items out (longer season, etc.) to get an agreement completed quickly, but they could do it.

The humongous work stoppage idea is very remote and unlikely to happen, but it's a huge stick for Vilma to wave around, to move Goodell towards caving in and giving something back to Vilma in a compromise. NOBODY wants that.

I'd be happy if they got in a room a fixed the problem, which is Roger Goodell's interpretation of the rules or his insistence to "slice the salami thin" as the judge said yesterday.

Reach an agreement where Roger steps down and amend the CBA.

Now, who wants a puff? :beatnik:

@AdamShefter
Some believe US District Judge will void discipline imposed on current and former Saints, NFL will appeal and suspended players will play.

SaintsBro 07-27-2012 03:55 PM

It's a shame they can't use this somehow to get some of the coaches back --I wonder if the penalties on players are voided, reversed or reduced, if there would be any wiggle room in there to open up a path for suspended coaches to sue as well, using this case as a precedent (different CBA but same "slicing the salami" argument, perhaps?). Probably a dead horse, I know, but it's only one day of camp and I miss Sean already!
