Yeah, he was a pretty entertaining H/C, ... you bought yourself a reprieve, for now,.

Yeah I think even we under rate Colston. He's not Calvin Johnson but he does share one trait with him. Even when he's covered or double covered yoiu can still throw it to him and expect him to come down with the ball. It's a joke that when people discuss the best WRs in the league they never even mention his name.

He has been playing really good so far.

52 TD's over 7 seasons doesn't lie

You're right, after comparing Colston's career stats to Calvin's, they compare favorably and you can argue it's an oversight not to include him that discussion.

They've both been in the league roughly the same amount of time, and even if you take away Colston's rookie season to compare them year-to-year, they still have similiar numbers. They both also rank closely among the top active receivers in all categories.

You learn something new everyday ... I always thought Colston was good, but when you break it down, he's even better then you originally thought..

Calvin Johnson, Terrell Owens, Randy Moss, type receivers are not Drew Brees type receivers. Those are play making opportunity type WRs.
E.G. Go out past the swingset and I will throw the ball so you can make a play. Those are big play receivers.

Drew is a QB that will make receivers that run strict routs and have excellent timing look great. He is an accurate timing QB. E.G. 10 yards cut left at 45 degrees the ball is released in 2.4 seconds and its nearly impossible to defend.

The Brees/Brady/Manning QBs thrive on "the ball will be delivered at x in 2.7 seconds, you better be there". Not "get open and I will throw it to you."

Having one on the team wouldn't be bad but that is not our bread and butter.

Good point and something to consider when the inevitable, "Does the QB make the Receiver or does the Receiver make the QB" argument comes up.

That discussion is never really played out like it should be. It is very much dependent on which QB and which Receiver.

Dallas is the perfect example of a lot of things.. Most importantly that a good team on paper does not mean they will work together like they should or be a good match.

I see that now because I've never broke it down quite like that. Complicates the discussion, but in a good way,.
