Re: Interception #2

One pick is 100% Brees. The second pick is no one's fault 100%. It is a tough throw that we make every game and not all defenses react to it the way they did and more than half the time it is a little more on target or Colston makes the grab. That one was part fluke, part better defense than we usually see, and part mental errors by QB and receiver.

Did you reply on Collinsworth?

Stand 10 yards away from a young John Elway and let him fire a lazer 2 feet over your head that you barely have enough time to get your hands up.

99% of NFL WR's won't catch that.

Its not a truism.

It amazes me how people think that this team would be worth a **** if Brees wasn't at QB. It also amazes me how people actually think he's playing bad this season. He had a bad game. Yeah its on him. I blame him for that but I'm not going to crucify him.

Bad game? He had two bad plays. Of course that was unfortunately enough. "But the iceberg only hit two of the water tight compartments, that make the ship unsinkable" LOL.

Truer words have never been spoken.

So he might as well catch it; he is going to be hit anyway!

Please find one time I suggested Fire, remove or even bench Drew Brees in favor of Chase Daniels... You won't find one.

Crucify him? Please...
You people just need to stop getting butt hurt when things are called like it is. You have ZERO issues with calling out other on defense or even our kicker but GOD FORBID the hifghest paid player in NFL history gets called out for stupid plays...

if I had a choice at catching the ball or using my arms to break a fall so I could walk again I'd choose to break my fall.

Colston did neither, when he jumped to catch the ball; he had no idea that he would be up-ended...

Re: Interception #2

Well Vilma last night said the same EXACT thing that I said, a few weeks ago in the "Is Brees Turning Into Brett Favre?" thread, about the pick 6 in the Carolina game...we've all seen Drew make those bone-headed decisions and throw that exact same pick 6 or bad interception before...(my memory is hazy, but I think in the case of the first one last night, to #55, it felt almost identical to one of the crazy ones he threw in that awful Cleveland game, when he had that rough patch -- I felt a little twinge of deja vu about it somehow). But what we haven't seen is Drew throw two of them almost back-to-back, like that, within a couple of plays of each other. Usually he dusts himself off and gets right back in it, the team comes back from the adversity, but last night, unfortunately, after the second one, it felt like Drew was sorta toast.

As for the "if it hits your hands you should catch it" thing -- I think that is something that the pros just sort of say, as a professional pride thing...the same way that professional session musicians, Nashville session cats and Broadway pit musicians and so forth, they are proud of the fact that they can play anything, any time, anywhere -- you can put any piece of music in front of them and they will CUT THE RECORD, perfect, every time, as many takes as you would like, just count it in and they'll play it exactly how you want it. But it's not actually how it really happens. They do screw up and play clams or break guitar strings and stuff. But it's something they say, to sort of distance themselves from the "non-pro" musicians -- and I think it's the same thing happening with football players as well.
