It's no secret on here that I don't put a lot of stock in the preseason games. Not to say that I dismiss everything, 'cause I don't.

That being said, this upcoming game should give much more insight about our team and more specifically about our defense. Hopefully, all the starters will be healthy enough to play.

The starters are suppose to play the entire 1st half. If so, then we should be able to see some improvements from last year. They are going to make mistakes. But, there should be more postive signs than negative ones. Remember, it's preseason, if you're going to make mistakes, now is the time to have them.

Even if we do play all of our starters, it's still going to be hard to guage how good we are, depending on who the Packers put on the field. And what they are trying to do.

It's possible we could look great against Green Bay and not be nearly that good because the Packers have one or two guys playing with their starters who won't be there come opeing day. One or two players can make a HUGE difference.

I'm not sure exactly what I'll be looking for. I'll just be watching and hoping I see some signs of improvement.

And as always, I'll be looking foward to everyone's comments after the game...

My biggest concern about this game is that we\'re not going to get a valid view of how our 1st offense compares to GBs 1st D since most of the o-line starters aren\'t going to be playing. However, if the backups play well, it may not matter so much.

I\'m real excited to see our run D against GB. Even if Green doesn\'t play much, I think we\'ll get a good look to see if there\'s been any improvement.

Also, the secondary starters vs Favre is another good matchup to watch.

Won\'t be much drop off when Davenport comes in the game. He\'s a power runner with good speed.
It should be a good test to see if the Pease plan is working.
Although one of the main ingredients is gamelong rotations to keep everyone fresh. Won\'t be able to see that influence till the real games start.

With so many O starters out I doubt this is the one game Haz was gameplanning for, unless its just the D side.

We all know the offense has talent and can score points, so I am looking only at this game from the defensive side of the ball. I don\'t care if we score at all, as long as they don\'t either. I think we will make some adjustments from the last game and they won\'t break 100 yards rushing or 3.5 yards per carry.

Just in case Ahman Green does rush for over 3.5 yards per carry. Let me put things in perspective...

Ahman Green rushed for 1883 yards and 5.3 per carry in 2003. Comarped to Deuce\'s 1641 and 4.7 yards per carry.

2003 Green Bay Packers 16 16 355 1883 5.3 98 15 15 96 - Green
2003 New Orleans Saints 16 16 351 1641 4.7 76 8 16 69 - Deuce

Here are a few of Ahman\'s games from last year.

Ahman Green Game Stats:
Philadelphia - 192 yards.
Denver - 218 yards.
Tampa Bay - 109 yards.

So, if he is able to run the ball on us, many have tried to stop him before. It won\'t be the end or the world. I know we\'ll have some fans that think it means our rush defense sucks.

That said, I hope we shut him down!!

I agree with everything you said, but remember he came out of Nebraska did\'nt he? I lived in Nebraska for about 10 years and know how rabid the fans are, they will sell their mother for a win. Now on to the next question:

How many Nebraska RB\'s have made it big time in the NFL? and remember they are a running team. It\'s where you land, not where you take off from.

How does the Packers O-Line look this year? First preseason game means nothing and so did the O-Line.

How many yards will Green rush for this year 1200 or less. The reason for my opinion is the next question:

How many Nebraska RB\'s have experienced a melt down in the NFL?

and that\'s all I got to say about that!!!

Golf and sex are about the only things you can enjoy without being good at them.
