I thought niners would win but
I guess this goes to show that in the end the saints weathered the storm. Long time saints fans didnt want the 49ers to win or the falcons even getting to the sb. Well both bullets were dodged. Goes to show that those days of hard luck, running all over the good guys are over with. More good guys today are winning more than bad guys. And if the enemy won in a city's stadium that would make them the bad guys. That said I just couldnt pull for the ravens as I don't like their style of play. 49ers were just more fun to watch. Ravens were just too hot though.

Re: I thought niners would win but
I wasnt too thrilled about the SB on account of how both teams got there.
I predicted in November the NFL would send those 2 teams there. I said the moment the matchup for the SB was made that the Officiating crew was going to do enough to allow Baltimore to win the SB. Both of those came to be and IMO was predictable for months in advance. |

Re: I thought niners would win but
Kaepernik made some rookie errors. This is the issue with going with a rookie at the end of the season.. hot or not experience is the route i would have gone with.
Jim Crybaugh made some grievous errors like calling time out on 1st and 10. He should have taken the delay of game and saved that time out for the end.. He was behind and trying to rally against a solid defense... |

Re: I thought niners would win but
Will, you took the words right out of my mouth.
Pardon me for being in a foul m,ood. I have a few minutes to post and will have to delete my post when I get home. The good guys lost. They played well. I turned the game off after the power came back on. I so wanted the 49'ers to win. The owner, Densie Debartolo is another woman , owner of a team like Saints'm Lola. Denise D owns her team. Her sons runs it. Kaepernick is a future qb. Exciting. Has a good rep. Praises God, even if it is on his tats. Good team minus Vernon Davis because you know why, yet he just did his job against the Saints. Ray Lewis irks my nerves. It is a wonder how he never had a heart attack with all the grunting, talking in" inpsirational talks as the team leader." Oak, we can Monday M.QB about that. In chat , some said that. Thing is, 49'ers would not have gone this far to SB because Smith was not in as qb the last few weeks. Yeah, Kaep is indeed a rookie and did some rookie things. Some things, Ray Lewis timing right there as a 49'er could have made a catch in the endzone, well, so much for a td there. SF offside and one or two other mistakes in 1st and 2nd qrtr. You just said about Jim Harbaugh (Crybaugh), LOL!!! Too funny. That is a good one. Ravens simply outplayed them. 49'ers came back and they were a serious challenge for Ravens. I am going post on 49'ers board. I am so sorry they lost. |

Re: I thought niners would win but
Ok then, 49'ers should have taken Kaepernick out for SB game and put in Smith. Kaep does not have the experience. No doubt about that. Well , he did not have the experience of a SB game. He does now. Now, he has the experience of regular season games , Playoffs and a SB. He did take the team from the last few games of the season to the and out of the Playoffs to now, SB Sunday. Not too bad for getting your feet wet on a job in the most crucial games.

Re: I thought niners would win but
Smith should have been the starter after he came back from his concussion... You don't alienate the QB who has proven to be able to get them there for a 2 year player.
At the time, no one knew if Kaepernick would be able to get them there or not, but he was given the starting spot anyway... |

Re: I thought niners would win but
Replacing Smith never bothered me...
The coach doen what he though was best for his team. I could care less about him being there 2 years. Something in practice said Kaepernick was better so thats why he is playing. I hear so much about this at work.... The guy had 2 years under harbaugh to get better and he simply didn't (according to the coach) |

Re: I thought niners would win but
Never said a swap should have been made for the SB. Smith should have never lost his job after he returned.
As far as "he took them"... Their defense "took them", just like the Raven's defense "took them". When you go into the play offs 23rd in the league in passing 4th in rushing and 3rd in defense... Its not the QB that got you there. Much like in 2009 when our 25th defense did not get us to the playoffs our 1st ranked offense did. Credit goes where credit is earned. Their defense and Gore get all the credit for the 2012 season. You ready to call Flacco a top QB in this league? Please tell me who Flacco is above in ranking from 1-10. Top 5 QB in this league (in no order) P. Manning E. Manning D. Brees T. Brady A. Rodgers In the end mistakes not bad play is what cost them the SB... Some of them rookie mistakes. |
