LB - Paul Hazel

6'5" 252 lbs.

Paul Hazel (born May 4, 1990) is an American football linebacker who most recently played for the Houston Texans prior to being released in August 2014. He played college football at Western Michigan where he played 49 games with 19 starts and posted 104 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, 17.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

Unselected in the 2013 NFL Draft, Hazel first signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. After being waived, he was claimed by the Cleveland Browns He signed with the Houston Texans after becoming a free agent at the end of the 2013 season. [1]

The Saints released linebacker Khairi Fortt, their 2014 fourth round draft pick, on Monday. Pending a move to injured reserve for safety Jairus Byrd, they will soon have an open roster spot.

He ran a 4.53 40 at his pro day but weighed 223 lbs.; being 6'5" he should be able to handle 250 well and keep the speed

Looked at some pictures of him. He looked very small when he was with the Jags and Texas. However, that is when he weighed 225 and 6'5 tall. That is not a very good build for a LBer. If he truly weighs in at 255 now it's a big difference and shows he has been hitting the gym hard. Might be a good investment.
