I think we should run the hurry up offense more. We start clicking and getting into a lethal rhythm. On the TD to Stills, we came out full throttle and they could not stop us.

They put 8 in the box and dared us to throw it. It worked for a while but then we got out of rhythm.

Look, I love running the ball as much as you all, but, you give what a team gives you. In this case the pass was there. I know some of the blame is definitely on the D as well but we should have never let our foot off the gas.

Re: Call me an Optimist

There was VAST improvement shown by the D today. Without that -- WE SURELY HAD NO CHANCE TO GET TO THE PLAYOFFS. So, despite a tough loss, I am encouraged.

And, I agree with Hagan, we can't keep passing opportunities to win the division.

Re: Call me an Optimist

I do agree that we cannot keep giving up the opportunities to take control of the NFC South. Luckily we seem to keep improving and still have 4 more games to play against our division rivals that seem to be in a tail spin. I am not saying that we are incredible and I am not saying that we are collapsing. I am just encouraged by the improvement we have shown and look forward to next week.

Re: Call me an Optimist

I agree...the best complete game we've played and that's including the wins over TB and MIN.

We just need to finish games much better.

And the best Brees pass I saw all day (my opinion of course)? He threw one in the ground at Ingram's feet when a screen got blown up. Brees came back the next play and got us a first down. It's encouraging.

Re: Call me an Optimist

I was encouraged
Especially seeing some pressure from the defense

That said - terrible mistackles and angles on the ball to continue drives

Colston despite the numbers looked slow and tentative
Why cant we get Cooks open in space?

The panther game and home stretch will be this season

Another positive that came out of yesterday.

The Saints pulled into a tie in number of interceptions with Malcolm Jenkins.

Re: Call me an Optimist

6 home games left, so 6 in the Dome they can maybe possibly win. Reasonably optimistic about those 6.

I have no faith they can win anything at all on the road at this point. I feel like I have seen this movie before; being one game behind, they are going to need to beat Carolina IN Carolina, and I have a feeling they will lose that game in a real gut-wrenching heartbreaker, thus handing Carolina the keys to the division. Then we will chase them the rest of the way, one game back, bleeding slowly from a thousand dagger cuts, and always that one game behind. I see lots of "we need to clean this/that up" press conferences in our future. It could get very ugly.
