The NFL requires teams to provide unofficial depth charts before each preseason game, and the New Orleans Saints released their first one on Sunday evening.

Most teams have their public relations department compile preseason depth charts, so anything listed on the Saints' release should be taken with a grain of salt.

However, it's still worth looking at the initial depth chart, if only to compare it to what happens when the Saints play the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Is Kikaha limping around?
He and Anthony gave us some of our best LB play last year.
I'm pretty sure he's not bubble.
I'm hoping that says a lot about the level of play above him on the list.

No way he's on the bubble. He will miss the season but there is no way in hell they will do away with him after the year he had last year as a rookie just because he got injured. Especially given where he was drafted.

Re: Saints release first unofficial depth chart of 2016

Tyeler starter? cool.

His play in the middle will be huge if he holds on to starters role. He does not need a ton stats. He needs respect. Jenkins has not been respected by OL around the NFL.

Tyler holds his own and I will add 1 win to the 2 wins I gave DA for replacing Rob. Rob never used Tyeler correctly most of the time. DE? I just shook my head and sighed.

Tyeler gets his chance to prove he is one of the steals of the draft now that he is at the right position.

RDE is still an unanswered issue. Bright side 2017 draft in deep in DE if needed.

OL is fluid IMO. Armsted is coming off the pup so lets see. If Peat is able to hold up at LOT maybe Armsted to RT? I would love to see the saints to toy around with the idea in the preseason.

Fellas,

I wouldn't read too much into this depth chart right now. Coach Payton probably put this together for us (fans, couch coaches) to get worked up about .
