Agree. Klein and Fleener were also bright spots.

I was impressed with Fleener tonight. Klein had to be all over the place, really no choice or the Vikes would have really racked up the yards. Oketre had a good game also.

Disagree on Okafor, he lost edge control on every long run and provided little pressure. Cook had 3 big runs on the edge, all occurred off his edge.

Abandoned the run game by the second series, playing to the strengths of the Vikings Pass Defense?

This is not smart Payton football...

From what I saw tonight, Minnesota will be hosting the NFC Championship Game...

And we just gave away Home-Field Advantage...

But, here's the problem I had/have with Payton tonight...

Payton's nature is to be aggressive - that's where he makes bread...

And to not go for the touchdown in the red zone on fourth down, not once, not twice, but three times?

Going contrary to his nature, that is what's bothering me right now...

And save this BS title thread for Week 12...

First, we're not going to the NFC championship game.

Second, the thread is appropriate because we are on our way to 7-9 for a fourth straight year. Is it possible we turn it all around and fix it, sure. Is it likely, no.

So I am going to bring out this appropriately titled thread week 1 after 3 straight 7-9 seasons and what looked like 7-9 vs.4

Defense started out well, but sometimes you just cannot stop players who are coached to catch in traffic. That's our problem, we are facing teams who want to score points as much as us. When teams play us they want to score quick because of Brees. And lately it's like the defense is supposed to do it first.

Most likely the offense will show up against the pats but they always will in those kinds of games and against the easier defenses. They just cannot beat hard nosed defenses.

Defense was so bad after the 2014 offseason it is gonna take a while to fix it and if it's gonna take a while and the saints can't see the issues on offense in these instances it's gonna take Brees a while.

Im sorry but..who in the hell are you?? Where is the real WillSaints81..because no way he would have ever made a post like this. Nice post and good point.

He's actually been right about quite a few things even when he's treated like a red headed step child.

Well maybe I will pay more attention to his threads if this is the kind of stuff he is gonna bring to the table. Been avoiding his topics because they were usually things from way left field.

Watching the game now....and as Im watching it notification comes to my phone showing dalvin cook broke AP's rookie record...Lls isn't that ironic. The saints look like a continuation from last season so far if you ask me. And only because ITS THE VIKINGS their offensive power is not impressive to day the least. Im dissapointed in HOW we lost more so than the actual losing.

The running game was not working. The swing passes weren't working. The downfield throws were, however, and THAT is what we simply didn't do enough of, in my opinion.

If we would run actual screen passes (not the same thing as a swing pass, though Payton must not agree with me) where we can catch their defense off guard, like they did to us, maybe we'd take some pressure off of Drew. Those swing passes are always telegraphed, and rarely work as a result. The Vikings offense will rank in the lower half of the league again, because they don't have great personnel and they don't run anything magical. We gave an NFL QB all the time he needed and busted in coverage over and over again. That will make any offense with a pulse look like the Vikings did tonight.
