The JaMarcus Russell era at LSU should be over

this is a discussion within the College Community Forum; It's like watching Vick without the speed. This guy is inaccurate can not scramble and has no touch. Coaching for the Forida game was horrible as well. Yeah the players did lay an egg on special teams but the playcalling ...

Russell was completing 70% of his passes coming into today, so yes he is accurate. One, if not two, of those picks is on Bowe also. And the Vick comparison doesn't even make sense.

Oh, and coaches don't run block.

Russell is an up and down QB IMO, he's just not consistent if you ask me.
He missed quite a few plays that he should have made.
The coaching staff are also responsible for the loss today against the Gators..

Trashing Russell is just utter BS! If you want to call someone(s) out for this horrible game, call out the coaches, the receivers, or even the defense......but you can't call out Russell. The guy was under pressure all game & still managed to find his receivers (when the coaches allowed him to throw it)......they just couldn't hold on to the damn ball!! Bowe dropped a sure TD, tipped 2 right to the defender for 2 out of 3 of Jamarcus's picks. Jamarcus is a good QB. I'm just tired of watching us play conservative Les Miles football. Pound the ball up the middle for 3 1/2 quarters, get behind, & then say "Okay Jamarcus....we need you to pass it & win the game for us now." Urgent message to coach Miles......"You're not in the Big 12 anymore."

I called out the coaches also, I think the Tigers sucked today and I never use that word towards the Tigers.
I'm disgusted in what I saw today with the Tigers.

I will start by saying I wanted Flynn to start the year as the QB. While total blame can not be placed on JaMarcus for the loss, he simply does not excel in big games. On that 4th quarter drive where he kept hitting outs to the sideline, once Auburn figured it out, he was confused. He was STILL just looking that way even though they figured it out. Once it led to a sack and another an almost INT going the other way.

The pass to Bowe with 3 minute something left was terrible. Completely. That was an easy TD.

Several times he barely got the ball to Hester in the flat, including the TD, cause he tries to throw dainty ass passes to show he has touch. There is no medium between full velocity and lolly pops. I agree 100% the JaMarcus Russell era should be over. I thought it was over after the game against Miami last year. We are out of the national title hunt, Perrilloux or Flynn should get the call. I'm sick of Russell. Unless w eplay a non-ranked opponent, you can count him out. Completing 70% of your passes against Tulane and Arizona isn't all that impressive. Time to move on. Once again, not placing total blame or even half the blame for the loss on him, but I have seen enough of him to know it's not good enough. We have the best receiving corps top to bottom in the NCAA, and even if we can't run, it's OBVIOUS we can throw. Oh, I also forgot to add a few times on third down instead of hitting a receiver open in the middle of the field to get a first down and keep the chain moving, Russell goes for more difficult passes to the sideline up the field and tight fits. The announcers mentioned it several times. I've seen enough. That one pass he threw on a crossing route where it came out like it was tipped, but he threw it like that. Ugh.

.......if they could only hold on to the ball for the catch. Sorry, whodi. I cannot agree on that one. We don't even have the best receiving corps in the SEC. That distinction goes to Tennessee.

I'm sorry, but Jamarcus is a good QB. Pitiful play calling & passing to come back in the 4th quarter (after you've abandoned the pass the entire game) is only going to make it tougher on any QB. Every defense is going to key the pass in that predicament. I like Perriloux as much as anybody & he'll get his day soon enough. I'm not riding the "Flynn Train" after his great game against Miami. I watched him in High School (being I have family in that part of Texas) & the dude is like a box of chocolates......you never know what you're gonna' get. One day......great!!! The next.....he's throwing 2 picks against Arizona's second stringers in the 4th quarter of a blowout.

I think yesterday for the first time we got out coached, when we lost to Auburn we weren't, we simply lost to a better team that day.
Another problem that we're having this year is that we're not taking advantage of the talent that's available, where was Charles Scott, huge game and he doesn't see the field, what's up with that?
Turnovers and special teams play killed us yesterday, I hope Miles turns his team around in a hurry and I hope we can begin to beat teams with equal talent as the Tigers..
Blowing out teams as UL & Tulane doesn't matter to me if you can't beat teams as Auburn, Florida and Tennessee type teams..

Rest In Peace JoeSam, thanks for everything my friend.

Nope.....just the 1st time everyone was forced to notice. Les Miles' conservative gameplans have bit us in the a** on more than just that one occasion.

Exactly! Why are we still playing Broussard & Vincent? They couldn't run against UL! Charles Scott has been dynamite every time he touches the ball, but he doesn't get to touch against Florida? WTF? And.....why has Keiland Williams not gotten some touches so far. Face it.....our problem is not talent......it's coaching!
