My daughter pitches every once in a while. I used to have to catch her. Lets just say I bought shin guards. Lucky for me, I used to be a catcher so it wasn't as bad on me.

I hear ya' ... played a lot of "slo"-pitch (of course,

) at one point and our "manager" got the bright idea to enter us in a fast-pitch tourney because we had one guy (count 'em ... ONE,

) who could pitch at that level. Yeah, we were the 'pride of the bar leagues' ...

Needless to say, it was an eye-opening weekend for me ... think I managed to foul one off at some point, not sure,

... made me a firm believer that the hardest thing to do in professional sports would be hitting a fastball,
