c'MON Mike. There are no thugs in the Bay Area. It's a myth. All that drama at pretty much any sporting event out here is perpetrated by space (or illegal) aliens who fly back to their home planet (unless they are of the illegal variety in which case they rent an apartment in San Jose) undetected.
The locals out here are simply not violent. Don't believe the news. Oakland, Richmond, Vallejo, Stockton, San Leandro...heck man, this is precisely where you'd want your mother to live... OR... Quote:

... nah, you aren't a ***** ... that mother****er hanging from the rope was a ***** ... you either keep track of that stuff or you fall victim to it ... and another special thanks goes out to the 'auto-editor' ... :)

Justice? Justice would be to dress him in a Raiders jersey and force him to go to a Niners game.

MOST interesting. It has been asserted here that one of us who lives out here has never seen so much as a bar fight.
Well, well, here we have a report of boosted police patrols to do what? Why, to stop the increasing number of bar fights. What makes this even MORE interesting is that this is taking place in Walnut Creek, a more upscale area in the East Bay. Walnut Creek Boosts Patrols to Stop Bar Fights - KRON 4 News Of the two dissenting opinions here in this thread, one is surely incorrect. But these people aren't attending 49ers games, because we KNOW that nobody in the SF Bay Area would ever act in such a way. /sarcasm EDIT: I think my work in this thread is done. |

I was going to post something similar Boutte , but I am still reading back posts and saw yours. I KNOW New Orleans and the area has bad crime. It is out of control. We know that. For the size and population, New Orleans is far easier to maintain than , lets say, the Bay area. For the geographic size and population size, there should be a better handle on crime in N.O. and surrounding areas. Our courts, the do nothing judges, and system there does very little with criminals. We know that since Hurricane Katrina, the "bad element" has spread itself out. the Halloween, 2011 shooting in the qrtrs. was awful. That Chris Owens club needs to close. I hope that TPTB(the powers that be), such as Mayor Landrieu, French Qrtr. Assocs. and others tackle these things. Like Boutte said, in the Dome, any fans wearing any NFL team's clothing, would have a good experience. YES, there are some stupid people in the Dome. I would think and even bet, knowing that N.O. has a bad reputation, is rebuilding , that Saints ' fans would get Dome police, protect the visiting fans, etc. In whatever section, there are enough people to know that this would not be cool for New Orleans and the Superdome and the Saints and fans. There is the difference. |

I think what Who Dat Cat means , as people do, when they say about LA only having one metro area, is that LA only has one major tourists city. You do not have people choosing Baton Rouge and Shreveport as destinations for honeymoons, conventions, major national and international sporting events like SuperBowl, SugarBowl, big concerts by international entertainers, Olympics Trials Games, our political conventions . GOP was there in 1987 and people have been wanting the Democrats to come. Lets get into politics here. Green is the party color. The presidents have already been elected and their names are Washington, Jackson, LOL, and some political insider, a real bigwig, umm, Ben. Benny. Benjamin Franklin. We are a multicolored city too. Black, Platinum and Gold are good as in your Amex cards. Anyway, I think that is what Who Dat Cat meant. :bng: |

Umm, Metairie, Kenner, and Gretna are dangerous and over the lake is dangerous too. My experience in N.O. and the surrouding areas and in visiting other cities/states and in the two other states I lived is that you take your precautions. You do not have a false sense of security. Meaning for example: stay with the flow of people (tourists), put money descretly in handbag, don't carry big handbags to events, stay in the tourists areas, get a home security alarm system, don't go in certain areas, don't drive in certain areas, just don't advertise yourself. |

And wern't you leaving this thread like, oh...2 pages ago? Lots of Violence in the bay area though since you last were here. But not on your block right? :whatever: |
Wow... I'm only done reading the first page on this thread and I'm pretty sure this whole thing is filled with dumb****... yet it's made it's way to page 11.
I can't believe I'm going to try to finish reading the rest. --- Nope nevermind... I couldn't do it. |

Rest of the world: Man those fans in SF act terribly. Wonder why? Me: Man it's violent out here in the SF bay area. One poster in this thread: Violent? In the bay area? Nonsense. I've never seen as much as a bar fight and I've lived here since 1990-Something. Me: Are you kidding? This is one of the most violent areas in the country. One poster in this thread: That's assinine, and besides, New Orleans is more violent than the bay area. Me: New Orleans has nothing to do with it. The rest is, in fact, back and forth BS. The whole thread has become my attempt to show how scary this place is and another poster's attempt at (first) showing me how wrong I am and then (second) attacking my position by insinuating I'm weak by calling me a Pu$$y and suggesting that I move elsewhere since I'm so (unnecessarily) afraid. LOL. That's about it really, with another 8-10 pages thrown in for volume. |
