Re: Lawyer turns over house, car to repay wronged client
Happens more often than you can imagine.
Old college buddy of mine disbarred for repeated (10) DUI's (finally caught up with him). Now he can neither practice law nor drive a vehicle... I guess forever. Second time disbarred so I don't think they're going to let him back in. Then last fall a fraternity brother of mine from college became unemployed overnight when his firm's partners were each disbarred for stealing heavily from an escrow account that became an FBI sting. Firm was dismantled in a day, furniture sold, they even sold his Tommy Lasorta autographed baseball at his desk. How would you like to leave Friday from work to return on Monday with your junk in a box! I'd laugh if it wasn't so un-funny for my buddy- they had to put him in the hospital with chest pains. |
